I don't care what anyone says, this is BS. If the game is going to be released on every other system BEFORE Wii U, then it'll be unsurprising when that version fails to sell. And just like everyone else, Ubisoft will blame Nintendo when it really was their own freaking fault yet still pull the plug on their support.
In short, this is the final nail in the coffin for 3rd party support on Wii U.
Or it is time for a Rebellion! Wii U owners should ban together and refuse to buy Watch_Dogs on other System, only buy it for Wii U. We should also make (encourage) others to wait a day to pick it up.
If this actually happened we could see more 3rd Party support. I recommend everyone with a Wii U to purchase this game on Wii U the day it comes out. It is up to the Wii U owners to show 3rd Party that we will support them and this is the best game to do that with... Just some ideas
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

It's probably cancelled. Aside from indie games, Skylanders, Disney Infinty, and Lego games; third party support is just about completely dead. I really will be surprised if Nintendo makes it through this generation without dropping out.

Pretty much this. What is their reason for the delay when it will just make sales even worse for the Wii U?

Except those games you listed will be selling better once the Wii is gone
Not like it would have sold that many copies anyways. Low nintendo hardware sales, majority of the buyers are Nintendo fans, Nintendo fans only play Nintendo games. Not much of a reason to put any effort behind the console. They could have saved even more money just by cancelling the game but I guess.

If you are interested in the game pre-order from gamestop.
Online pre-order costs you nothing. If it's cancelled it costs you nothing. If it comes out on another platform and you decided to get it you can cancel your pre-order.
You have nothing to lose, but pre-order numbers will give ubi-soft an idea of how well the game would sell on Wii U.

I'll pre-order Watch_Dogs...for my Xbox One or (future) PS4. I was never going to buy the Wii U version to begin with. Why should I?
@Unca_Lz: But probably not as well as the other versions. I highly doubt the Wii being gone is going to help it's successor too much...
At this point cancelling the game would be monumentally stupid. It's likely we might get a "left-overs" version of the game as a copout to ditch the Wii U; Ubisoft is not as stupid as EA.
Ubisoft's not gonna act surprised when the Wii U version fails to sell. This is Ubisoft giving up on the Wii U version. We'll see if it's even released.
Delays Rayman Legends 7 months in order to work on the other titles, and makes sure to not only make it no longer exclusive, nor worthwhile due to controlling with the Vita
Cancels development of Ghost Recon Online. In order to focus on the PC version
Cancels development of a ZombiU sequel
Delays Watch Dogs in order to focus on other systems
Ubisoft Representitive Aisha Tyler claims the Wii U is dead in the water when asked why there were no Wii U games shown in the E3 2013 show
And then people want to say Ubisoft is pro-Wii U or even pro-Nintendo.
