So i'm really enjoying Mario Kart 8. But I don't think it's a game that will have me instantly coming back to the way a full adventure game would. So when are we going to see a game like that come to Wii U ?

I was waiting for someone to make this thread. Presumably since Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors are releasing in the summer in Japan, both of those games will release around the same time in the west. Besides that though, who knows. Smash is most likely a November release, and I'm having my doubts of X being released in 2014 at all.
Well, I don't know about anybody else but now that Mario Kart 8 is out I'd say what's next is enjoying the game for at least a week before I worry about what else Nintendo has coming the rest of this year. E3 is right around the corner we'll find out then. My guess is Bayonetta 2 or maybe X.

I have no idea, to be honest. I haven't gotten Mario Kart 8 yet, not until July, I'm busy playing other games. So, no biggie for me. I'm used to the "droughts", and I have 6 systems to choose new games for.
Just, hopefully, X will be released this year or next at least. Next year ir way more likely.

Seriously, I think Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors are on the summer release docket for Japan. I would assume the the rest of the world will see releases close to that time frame as well.
I feel like we won't see X until next year. Sonic Boom (presumably) and SSB are holiday releases (so November/December). Everything in between, I don't know. There might be some unannounced 3DS games released in there. E3 is right around the corner, so we'll see.
Zelda probably won't be out until holiday 2015.
TBH Mario Kart is maybe the second or third biggest time sinks on Nintendo's platform for me. Behind Animal Crossing and maybe Pokemon. So really now Mario Kart is out I don't care about what the rest of the year will have even half as much as I otherwise would have. If there's nothing new to play I'll play some Mario Kart.
Plus I have the Wonderful 101 which was my free download and I haven't even loaded it up yet. Then there's Child of Light which I didn't finish before Kart was out. Plus I assume Shovel Knight in the next couple of months as well as maybe 1001 Spikes which also looks cool. Plus all the E3 hype. Heaps of stuff to take up my time on the Wii U without having to worry about "what else is next"

I was wondering this myself - not b/c I am looking for something else to play - but b/c NL has had about 3-5 MK8 posts per day and now that it's out they need something else to cover.
As others have said, what's next is E3. That's what gamers look forward to this week. Rumours, wish lists, speculation. Then next week we get answers. Maybe.
Though before that if you register MK8 at Club Nintendo you get a free game, in my case WW HD - so that's next, never played it.
As for games...
Hyrule Warriors should be first, I think it's dated, maybe June or July

NFC game in Sept - I know they haven't announced an actual game, but they really should have a dedicated game, maybe Sports Club Complete on disc

Depending on what gets announced at E3 next week all anybody may be talking about is Zelda for the next 18 months. Good or bad depending on which graphical direction they choose to go.
Sometime over the next 12 months I think we'll get ANOTHER Mario sports game - baseball, soccer, volleyball - all still missing on Wii U.
And Yarn Yoshi has to be out there somewhere.
