One of the things that, on one hand, I love and, on the other hand, that troubles me tremendously about not only our fanbase but about the gaming community at large is that, whenever you share information, the perspective is, 'Thank you, but I want more.' 'Thank you, but give me more.' I mean, it is insatiable.
And so for years this community has been asking, 'Where's Pikmin?' 'Where's Pikmin?' 'Where's Pikmin?' We give them Pikmin. And then they say, 'What else?'
For years, this community have said, 'Damnit Reggie, when you launch, you better launch with a Mario game.' So we launch with a Mario game, and they say, 'So what's more?'
I have heard people say, 'You know, you've got these fantastic franchises, beyond what you're doing in Smash Bros., isn't there a way to leverage all these franchises?' So we create Nintendo Land and they say, 'Ho-hum, give me more.' https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/06/reggie_fils_aime_fan...
I was wondering this myself - not b/c I am looking for something else to play - but b/c NL has had about 3-5 MK8 posts per day and now that it's out they need something else to cover.
I think NL generally is excellent in their coverage of most things related to Wii U games, regardless of it's retail, indies or VC. Compare that to sites like WiiUDaily, which (despite the site name) just covers MK8, some occasional SSB, some strange news/rumors and some low-quality indies.
Sounds like baseball and boxing are coming to Wii Sports Club.
I'll put in 100 hours on MK8 by the end of the summer and I still have Child of Light, plus several other indie games. Prolly won't get it on release day but will get Sonic Boom. Not sure if I'll get Smash Bros. on the 3ds. Will probably just wait until it comes out on the Wii.

As others have said, what's next is E3. That's what gamers look forward to this week. Rumours, wish lists, speculation. Then next week we get answers. Maybe.
Though before that if you register MK8 at Club Nintendo you get a free game, in my case WW HD - so that's next, never played it.
As for games...
Hyrule Warriors should be first, I think it's dated, maybe June or July
Bayonetta 2 August
NFC game in Sept - I know they haven't announced an actual game, but they really should have a dedicated game, maybe Sports Club Complete on disc
Skylanders 4 Oct 5
Sonic Boom in Nov
SSB Dec 28 if we're lucky
X 2015
Zelda 2015
Depending on what gets announced at E3 next week all anybody may be talking about is Zelda for the next 18 months. Good or bad depending on which graphical direction they choose to go.
Sometime over the next 12 months I think we'll get ANOTHER Mario sports game - baseball, soccer, volleyball - all still missing on Wii U.

I see how what I wrote could be interpreted that way, but I wasn't mocking NL - it's the only Ntinedo site I use - it was just a statement of fact. MK8 is out, so what is the big game news to be covered next? If that thought hadn't popped into my head about 5 minutes before reading this forum thread title I probably wouldn't have posted in here.
Someday we'll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me
So i'm really enjoying Mario Kart 8. But I don't think it's a game that will have me instantly coming back to the way a full adventure game would. So when are we going to see a game like that come to Wii U ?
so you play an avdenture game (guess you mean action avdenture game) more frequently then something like a racer?
i dont get that. games like mario kart can be played over and over again. but games like metroid prime are fun the first playthrough but then i need a pause from it. like a few years before starting to play it again.
I do agree that an Adventure/story focused title is more the type of game I'd focus on, while something like Mario Kart I'd play a lot for a little while and then come back to here or there. Which is good, you need those type of games and the Wii U was quite frankly made for these type of games, but it's not something I would exactly play 2 months straight. Even if it is somehow the best Mario Kart.
For Wii U, especially on retail, it's almost certainly gonna be Hyrule Warriors or Bayonetta 2. This doesn't matter much to me (though I'm almost certainly gonna get both of them) because I have some old stuff to play and some eShop stuff to play and for no reason Blizzard gave away that Lost Vikings game I've always wanted to play more of.
It would happen to be my favourite non-Nintendo series of all time, and my username and avatar take more then a slice of influence from the second Dreamfall game. As I'm sure you can tell.
Big question is, can I wait for it to arrive on Wii U when it'll be coming to Steam in a relative jiffy. Hmm.

Reggie is an advertising guy and that is it why he only thinks in those terms.
Make something new and make people want it by raising the bar. (Like they did with Mario 64).
“30fps Is Not a Good Artistic Decision, It's a Failure”
Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.

You also said (which I didn't quote) that E3 was the next big thing - and I agree with that. I think the remaining days until E3 will be a combination of MK8 reflections (such as sales figures) and E3 hype.
I also think that the MK8 release date was carefully planned for marketing purposes. There are just enough days left until E3 to use the MK8 release as a marketing tool, such as today's announcement by Reggie about the 1.2 million MK8 copies and mention E3 at the same time.

Sounds logical. Though I think fatigue is setting in. Only 3 comments after an hour for the latest MK8 post.
I think....
Sonic Boom in June/July.
Hyrule Warriors in August.
X in September.
Bayonetta 2 in November (STAY FAR AWAY FROM OCTOBER... THAT MONTH IS ALREADY PACKED).
SSB4 in December.
Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Zelda U, Yarn Yoshi, and Fatal Frame U are all 2015 games.
Bayonetta 2 is confirmed for Japan in the summer. Maybe Fall for the west.
X, I think was confirmed for Q3/Q4 in a Japan Direct. I'm not so sure about that tho.
Hyrule Warriors probably September/October. It's August 14 in Japan.
Smash Bros. U will most likely be in November.
Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric is confirmed for Nov. 14 in USA/EU.
