So Nintendo is talking about new ideas and new strategies, personally I'd love to see a new coat of paint on some old franchises. I'd love to start a chat about some old characters you'd want to see in HD on the Wii U!
At this point I would rather see a new franchise from Nintendo than an old one brought back, but that just might be me.
I'm not necessarily talking an old franchise that has been seen lately. I mean along the lines of their huge catalogue of older game characters that hasn't seen the light of day in decades, for example Kid Icarus hadn't been in a game since 1986 when he was put into SSMB. Then they made Uprising and it sold reasonably well and was one of the first games to push the 3DS into it's success.

On one hand I agree. On the other hand, I've said before that a new Star Fox, F-Zero or Metroid Prime would likely feel far fresher a game than most new IPs. I mean like at "new" IPs like Homefront if you want to see the perfect example of that...
I mean if Nintendo makes a new platformer series, who cares? They already have several just about the Mario universe alone, they don't really need more. But how many "first person adventure", futuristic racing or 3d schmup (mixed with insert genre here depending on the game) games do you know? Probably not a lot...
@DarkwingLz Just because the creator isn't making another one doesn't mean nobody will want another one. It's disheartening for those who would like one, but it's not going to stop the wanting.
I'm not sure why anyone would want another Mother game considering the creator isn't making another one
Itoi said he'd let someone else create a sequel, he just doesn't want to make it.
While I think nothing could top Mother 3 and Earthbound, I think it's still a good idea to make a spiritual sequel. I'd actually like to have a Mother 2.5 that explains how Earthbound led to Mother 3.

I love all the ideas! Personally I would really love a Kid Icarus game, or another game in the Mana series (if they could get Square Enix to revitalize the series).
