I personally think that instead of selling virtual console games on the Wii U, Nintendo should sell us a subscription, just like Netflix: You could pay a monthly fee, like for example 7.95$ and have free access to any virtual console game available on the library; you should be able to play any game, post your thoughts on the miiverse. I think that they could also provide a way of playing a two-players match online.
I don't think people would spend $7.50 a month on games since they'd just take a month and DL everything

I can't wait for the day that any of the major players decide to do something like this. I would gladly pay a monthly fee for instant access to a library of games. Although I'm not sure if I would do it for just the virtual console. I would also gladly rent games for a couple of days on my console. Actually, renting a digital game for 2 or 3 days for a few bucks is what I want the most. Everyone loves renting games. I think the first digital service to figure that out will do very well for themselves.

Hm. I wouldn't mind this as an option side by side with the current method (either pay per download and keep it forever or pay a monthly fee to "rent" titles), but I'd probably just pay to download them anyway, I usually like to keep my games and it's not rare for months to go buy without anything I'm interested in downloading, so I'd probably save money in the long run. But it might be a better option for some people. I don't know if this would make Nintendo more money or just lose sales though, I wouldn't be surprised if they've already considered this idea and decided they make more money charging for each download.
Remember, Nintendo is as much a business as any other company, even when they throw us freebies or special deals, it's for PR reasons and to earn money in the long run. They'll do what they feel is the most profitable, even if we think a different option would make them more money.

This isn't a bad idea, considering I spent about $20 a month on downloads anyway. First things first though, get the VC on the Wii U's eshop and out of Wii Mode.

Oh, you mean like what Sony has been doing for over a year now with PSPlus?

I would like for Nintendo to copy Sony too.
If Nintendo did what Sony is doing, then it would be Nintendo's original idea and Sony would be flamed for copying.
I can see it now.

You got me curious, @CactusJackson. Is there something that nintendo stole from playstation and people said that playstation stole it from nintendo?
hypocritical extreme fanboyism response to extreme opposite fandom fanboys complaining about Sony being smart enough to take advantage of Wiimote's success.
It's a good idea at the very least, but considering that Nintendo makes $8.00 per game, at least SNES and up, it seems like it wouldn't be worth it in their eyes. The people who would utilize it would be willing to buy the games anyway.
Best thread ever

And foolish people, everybody knows that it's only a copy when Sony does it. That's why nobody complained about Kinect (ignoring the Playstation Eye) while they moaned about the PS Move for days on end. That's why PS Battle Royale is considered a knock-off of Brawl yet nobody ever complains of knock-offs for just about any FPS that's not Doom or any platformer that isn't Pitfall.
