Gamestop knows that they must keep a great relationship with first parties in order to succeed longer. After all, you have to buy your e-shop cards from somewhere.

I'd say GameStop is pretty safe from disappearing anytime soon, especially as long as people keep buying disc copies of things and NFC along with AR cards become a thing.
Even if things went all digital, with NFC and AR, it seems like GameStop could just turn into a card and action figure shop that still sell the download cards and hardware.
Just imagine a loaded comic book store with old figurines, cards, etc. except now it's all redone/modernized to be digitally compatible with your Wii U and/or 3DS.
^ not to entertain your usual tangents or anything, but i could easily see GS going that route. FYE seems to have made the transition to clothing/action figure/weird anime stuff/etc. and so forth type of shop successfully and the demand for physical media for movies and music have been on a much sharper decline over the years than video games, lol.

The stores where I live seem to be ok with Nintendo...I mean, there's sometime this one employee who doesn't even care for their games/systems, but other than that, yeah...

I remember when i was going to buy a Wii U at gamestop, they asked why the hell I wanted that poopiedoodledingdongdoggiepoops machine? and said to me to buy a XBOX 360 instead!
I ended up buying a Wii U at a local store for about $70 cheaper after waiting 2 months (they still had the same price) Watch the profanity please — TBD
I salute you for making a thread about Gamestop and Nintendo that wasn't a conspiracy thread. A few of the guys at my locale Gamestop aren't fanboys, they are really helpful and knowledgeable. I met an employee at a Gamestop near me who has LoZ tattoo on his arm even.
I've never been too fond of talking to non-female strangers so i've never really started a conversation with one of the employees. That said there's one nice guy who often started to talk a bit 'bout Nintendo stuff. Without even bashing the kinda casual stuff in the high times of the Wii.
