This is probably not worth it's own thread and you can feel free to quote this inevitable fact: "I can't wait for this to become about how Nintendo and Gamestop are enemies or something! Somehow!"

Regardless though, I did find something minor but cool. The Wii U demo station thing, along with being the only one there beyond the eternally ronery Vita (shame, Guacamelee and Trials seemed fun...), looked pretty awesome. Wii U logo on top with the letters glowing, shown on a tv slicker looking than even the console or gamepad, options for both Wiimote/nun-chuck and the gamepad etc. Also it has this cool label covering the bottom part of the tv saying something like "Why you want a Wii U" and it lists reasons.

also i can get RE: Revelations on Wii U for 10 bucks if I trade in the Wii Animal Crossing and 3DS Mario Kart games I regretted buying. Not sure if I will but that is pretty tempting. Deals like that are apparently a thing now and I think that's kinda awesome and makes up for quite a bit of their business practices, to my surprise.

I once went to a Gamestop near my house. I was buying a 3DS game and the Gamestop employees was passing out brochures about why the Wii U was worth buying and talking about how good it was. When I saw that... My heart warmed and I smiled a huge smile. I will be getting a Wii U for Christmas. I still have the brochure and I luv looking at it. ^.^

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Realy great news, because all the gossip going around how gamestop didnt like wii U.
Also i will probably never buy at a gamestop because they are more expensive in most things, or at least the one i can reach (but it might be because its in the central train station)

GameStop doesn't hate Nintendo. It's the employees that usually recommend Microsoft or Sony over Nintendo.

Anyway, ya, they've had a pretty neat setup at every store I've been to.

I'd say go for the trade in. You won't have much of a chance getting rid of those games for any more than that.

That is cool. I have been surprised recently at the Nintendo/ GameStop partnering mostly because when I was trying to get a job at a GameStop a couple of years ago they told me they (the employees) tried to sell more Microsoft products because they heard some of the same people that were heavily invested in GameStop were also invested in Microsoft. That was 1 reason I stopped shopping at GameStop

When I went into GameStop to preorder the Limited Edition copy of Wind Waker HD, I was expecting the guys to laugh me out of the store or try and punch me in the face after some of the horror stories I have found on the Net. To my surprise they both had the game preordered as well and were really looking forward to it..

I don't think GameStop has a problem with Nintendo; I think there is a percentage of DudeBro employees that hate on Nintendo.

Well if Gamestop did have a problem with Nintendo I don't think they would sell Nintendo products there. Its more the 16 year old CoD fanboys that they hire that dont like Nintendo.

Employee-wise, you could definitely say Gamestop, generally hates Nintendo, but corporate-wise, they probably love them. Nintedo gave Gamestop Xenoblade exclusivity, Nintendo games take forever to decrease in value, Nintendo games are huge sellers, and the Wii was suited for low budget families, the people who would more likely trade in their used games. I haven't seen the set up, but if it helps bring in some Wii U sales, I'm all for it.

I bet Gamestop bought Xenoblade exclusivity but Either way I'm glad they did otherwise we probably never would have seen it here in the States.

I think it depends on the store, the GameStop employees in my area are actually really cool, but I've read and even seen videos of other GameStops that are completely horrible.

Yea, I had to go into a local store for Xenoblade Chronicles, I missed the initial launch, and the employees were making fun of me for spending so much on a game even though I had a coupon and the discount card which brought the game down to $60 after tax.

I like how the EB Games store in my area has their setup... WiiU & PS4 sections unobstructed... XBone section is always obstructed with boxes from their daily deliveries

Nintendo brings gamestop a great amount of revenue and vice versa
They work together and help each other, I saw a nintendo official at gamestop the other day and she and the employee chatted for an entire hour before she left.

What I find weird, is that they're starting to sell DS games for more than 3DS games in some cases.
Every Dora the Explorer game on DS is like $20, used. More surprising, is that 2K is the one making the Dora games.

Gamestop knows that they must keep a great relationship with first parties in order to succeed longer. After all, you have to buy your e-shop cards from somewhere.
