I managed to get hold of a copy of this today. When it first came out I didn't really like the idea of it, but with a big hole until MK8 which is only littered with Platformers, I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm gradually getting into it, but I still wonder if it runs on the same Ubisoft engine where the main character does an MC Hammer lunge forward with every movement of the joypad? I keep falling over in circles attempting to speak with that one person in the village awkwardly positioned behind two others.
Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

What? The 4U is not even out yet, are you talking about the 3U?
If you are welcome to the club! You won't regret getting game and be prepared to spend 300+ hours on it
To answer your last question, all you need to do is position yourself facing those people and select which one to talk to using the D-pad. Trying to position yourself with the analog stick to talk to one specific person is quite impossible lol

Oops, sorry, been reading both the MHU3 thread and the MH4 thread and confused myself. Yes I mean MHU3. Thanks for the tip!

Anyone know how the sales were for monster hunter 3 ultimate ? I mean they just needed to compare sales from the 3ds version and the WiiU version. Im sure they are smart enough to put 1 and 1 together
If the WiiU sales were lackluster i dont see a reason to port it over to that console. I'd prefer if they put work into an epic monster hunter 5 or some new ip for whatever console
After I switched to MH3U on Wii U i never went back to the 3ds version..... Just doesn't feel right and I love it on the big screen. If MH4U came to Wii U, I'd buy it no questions asked, except when it's arriving.

To be perfectly honest I preferred 3 Ultimate to playing Tri on the Wii (not about the extra content). It's just easier to go when you're normally sharing the TV with other family members. You also don't have to worry at being interrupted in the middle of a potentially 50 minute long hunt by someone else, you can just close the 3DS and come back to it whenever. I never really play Monster Hunter on the go, because a game that intense + glare on the bus = a rathalos' meal, but it's perfectly good on the XL.
If you want the definitive version then just get the new 3DS XL, as the monster and environment textures are much improved on that.
As a side note I'd never played Smash Bros 3DS online until yesterday, and after playing Monster Hunter 4's demo online with no latency whatsoever it's just horrible. I mean that lag is atrocious! I guess I just never counted my blessings with Monster Hunter.
As someone who had both the 3ds version and the WiiU version of 3u, I can say that I enjoyed the wiiU version more for a single reason, Online Play.
Now that 4u has it on the 3ds, I'd rather play on that (as the text for 3u was far to small to read from my couch, so I found myself playing solely on my gamepad anyways.

Yeah, Monster Hunter online without lag on a 3DS is actually quite amazing. Especially as it seems it should be a heavier load than Smash 3DS, so I really don't see why there should be lag in Smash 3DS at all
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Why would a Monster Hunter game have a heavier load on the netcode than Smash?
Smash more or less requires full duplex, since a package arriving 0.05 seconds too late would literally kill a match. And Smash also need accurate and timely packages sent about the environment that affect the game (such as items and their speed/position/use).
I have only played the Monster Hunter 3U demo, and based on what I have seen Monster Hunter is not a game that requires lots of packages sent or really accurate timing in combat.

I don't have any knowledge about what a duplex or a package is, I'm just going purely from the opinion of a clueless outsider looking at both online features. I am in no way treating my observations as fact.

I only recently (two days ago) bought MH3U on Wii U. I am kicking myself for not getting that game sooner. It's SO good. I'm loving every second of it. I really hope they bring the latest and greatest version to Wii U. I'm not getting the 3DS version, because I don't really like playing games like that on 3DS. But if they release on console, I'm there.
