Topic: Is Nintendo Hinting a Kirby Air Ride Sequel, or is it Just Wishful Thinking?

@Mizore LOL I know you're joking but karts was in the trailer cuz of Mario Kart 8. Donkey Kong was in the trailer because of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze coming soon.

I'm pretty sure DK was in the trailer....because he's in the game, lol.

it made absolutely no sence too me at all. i was sure kirby would be playable and would be fan service for all those wanting a air ride sequel but why all that for a smash trailer. i just dont get it. terrible teaser in my eyes.

I was hoping Iwata was hinting at Kirby in Mario Kart at least. He would be more welcome than the babies, at any rate.

First I thought it was Kirby Air Ride, then I thought he was going to be in Mario Kart 8, then it was just a massive disappointment of adding a bland character into Smash Brothers. I really hope that was some sort of hint at a new Kirby Air Ride..

Weren't some of you wishing for a Smash announcement?

Personally I think Rosalina in smash is pretty cool, but a new Kirby Air Ride would have been cooler.

I think Iwata said that Sakarai just wanted to incorporate MarioKart into a Smash Bros. trailer. Kirby was only there, because he's Hal. Lab's IP for Nintendo and that's who makes this game.

I don't think it was supposed to hint anything, besides that there's a new Mario Kart that has characters in Smash Bros. and Kirby's in Smash Bros,, too. I can see how you guys thought it was confusing, but Sakarai isn't even working on Mario Kart or a Kirby game(as far as we know).

It was Kirby Air Ride music from the guy whose last Kirby game he worked on was Kirby Air Ride. It was a blatant reference at the very least, if a confusing one.

...I thought everyone loved Rosalina...and now everyone hates her...? I don't get you people, lol. (besides, the Smash series needs more female fighters...so I'm fine with Rosa showing up)

It could mean any number of things. Kirby being unlockable in Mario Kart 8, Sakurai's next project will be Air Ride, or Kirby was just in there because he's Sakurai's brain child and Iwata wanted the trailer to include Mario Kart in order to segway into that franchise next during the Direct.

Who knows...

I'm doubtful it was anything more than the latter.
But one can hope right?

I'm going to have to try kirby's air ride as I never got around to it. Of the 50+ franchises under Nintendo's umbrella, I think Kirby is the only one that underwhelms me. It's not bad, nothing Nintendo is, but it always felt like a way less epic Mario or DKC with power stealing abilities to me.

KAR, from what I understand, is a totally different experience, though.

KAR seems to be placed in the "things i never knew so many people loved until the internet came out" category, along with Majora's Mask & the Dreamcast

Yeah, KAR isn't all that great by yourself, it's when you play with friends it gets amazing. City Trial is the mode nearly everyone who played KAR played the most. It just never seems to get boring. So if you have someone to play with, you need to try KAR, but if you don't, I wouldn't recommend it.

Release dates, more details, etc etc. The Rosalina announcement was cool though even though I was fully expecting another Kirby game.

im saying shes boring and doesn't fit into the mario universe in my opinion. shes fine in the galaxy games but i dont think we need to see her coming back in every game from now.

i also hate her voice.
