A Pokemon console game wouldn't erase your portable games. You'd still have yours, while we'd get some love too. It would be just as "crazy" as putting Smash Bros on a handheld... Oh wait!
The limitations of the gameboys graphics made that many monsters possible at that time. Arguably they could do it now, but think about how many pokemon exist now, and having to fully model, texture, animate etc each and every one would take years all by itself.
Sure, it's a lot of work but they've had over a decade to figure it out. Zelda and Mario went 3D, why shouldn't Pokemon?

I'd be happy with some sort of return to Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Snap or the two gamecube games.
Maybe they can do a Pokemon Ranger game on Wii U. Pokken Fighters is also a neat idea.

They have....on X/Y...lol
Not to mention Pokemon has been in 3D since the N64 days.
I think pokemon should come to the Wii U it would save the system. People talk about portability and bla bla bla but we all know that most people nowadays are doing their trading and battling online and guess what people? the Wii U has online capabilities. You have just as much connectivity with the world as you do on your 3DS and with the Wii U being stronger there is a chance for even more and better online features. Pokemon could be so much more on a home console but fanboys are afraid of a little change.
EDIT: Cross platform play with 3DS would be great or even just trading it adds that portability that pokemon has although with online portability is just an extra feature as opposed to the essential feature it used to be.
@mamp Actually, it's the people who are in charge of Pokemon that are afraid of change.
Them too but I have pitched this idea in forums before and then fans rage on me about how it's best suited for portable consoles, and they've never made a good home console pokemon game, etc. That one infamous screen shot gives me hope that maybe it could happen we don't know what it is yet so it could be anything.

A fully 3D third-person Pokemon RPG. (No silly spin off games, please!) That's really all they have to do. What is the problem, Game Freak?
Game Freak has never worked fully on a console, before, IIRC. They always have to get another team to do a lot of the work with the console. Besides that, as long as the handhelds are selling ok, Game Freak couldn't care less what happens to the Wii U. On the bright side, thank you for pointing at Game Freak and not Nintendo, seeing as Nintendo doesn't tell Game Freak what to do, and therefore has no control over GF's projects.
They should do an X/Y expansion type game for the WiiU. Have a ton of new side quests and post-game material to do. There would be Pokemon Stadium HD battles for online play. So it wouldn't be a fully new Pokemon game but a part of X/Y. This might get the Pokemon fans who only have a 3DS tempted to buy a WiiU.
Retain the portability of Pokemon, but use the home console to expand the experience. It's that simple.
except that would hurt the WiiU as much as I think the SSB4 having a 3DS version will...
WiiU needs something like a crazy fusion of Pokémon Stadium and Colosseum, you know, an adventure with a cool story and all the modes from Stadium in it too a game that's not exactly like the handheld ones but that does not heavily depend on them like Stadium did.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

They're also right, because the trading and the battling are too important to the gameplay, and with consoles you can't get that local communication between games, you'd either need to have a 3DS or an internet connection to fully enjoy the game, and I don't think Game Freak wants to force that on the players. So until that changes, you're probably not getting anything from the main series on any console. I don't even think they'll do Stadium/Battle Revolution anymore because part of the appeal is lost now that the main games are in 3D, so we're probably not going to get anything but spinoffs on the Wii U.

Pretty sure GameFreak has nothing to do with anything but the main series games.
I want an Atlus made Pokemon game like Persona. so like Pokemon trainers in highschool which could be fun. I am fine if we get more t rated Pokemon games. No gore or anything but you know what I mean. Mature games don't always mean gory.
