Alright. To summarize my story, I have updated my Wii U to the latest firmware. Then when I am selecting the Wii menu icon, an error has appeared: "Wii menu could not be opened, please select Try Again on your TV". I did this, but the error keeps appearing.

Please tell me what should I do to solve this?

Were you trying to access Wii Menu with the B button shortcut or do it manually (by pointing the Wii remote on the Wii menu icon at your TV)? The former can be a bit flimsy.

Have you forgotten to plug your sensor bar in? Mine wouldn't work til I put the sensor bar in yesterday.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Everything is plugged and ready, but still it doesn't work.

Check the HDMI cable perhaps? I've only ever gotten that when my TV was off.

I'll try that and tell you later.

Edit: problem solved. It turned out that the TV needs to be turned on when going to Wii menu.

That is so counter intuitive. Why do i need to turn the TV ON to use OFF TV-play ? That is absolutely stupid ...
