Hi, any prediction/guess how Nintendo will use the gamepad on all the new coming games? 3D Mario and new Mario kart will be interesting to see what they have done with this , for me it will be most interesting to see gamepad usage in Zelda games.

I'm guessing that Mario Kart U will play it safe and just display a map on the gamepad. I bet they'll allow non split-screen multiplayer also. But other than that, I don't see anything special with the gamepad out of MKU..

Don't tread on me..

Yeah, it'll probably just be like a home console version of the DS games.
Hopefully they'll bring back the rear-view camera from Mario Kart Wii as well as the touch screen map, as if you play non split-screen multiplayer or play without the TV then there'll be no map to look at, and I miss the rear-view camera.

As for 3D Mario... I can't really see the GamePad being used for anything too significant.

Yeah, I agree with that. I like the fact that you can see other people's items on the 3DS. It helps balancing the "luck factor" in solo which can be frustrating (when you're first and see that a blue shell is coming, you brake to let the second go first). Off-screen play seems quite obvious too.

I can see the benefit of GamePad touchscreen in 3D Mario. For instance, mini-games just like Super Mario 64 DS, World's map, showing places that it can be viewed only on GamePad, competitive multiplayer where five players get to compete who collects most stars, first-person view movement using GamePad's gyroscope.

That's what I can think about.

I hope X uses the gamepad as an alternate means of playing the game.
Mario Kart U, as others have said, is probably going to use the gamepad screen as a map and hopefully will allow gamepad screen play.
The 3D Mario U game is likely going to be for map display, power up access and star menu, with gamepad screen play as an option. I was going to suggest using the gamepad to view hidden areas not shown on the TV screen, but I feel that's a much better concept to introduce in a Metroid title.
