1. The editors here don't edit these things "for their enjoyment (seriously that would be messed up if they actually are!)" anything that happens that is Nintendo-related, happy or otherwise, is from others news sites, Nintendo itself, Youtube, etc. Which brings me too...
2. If we don't know what's going on, then how do we know what to expect? I.E. Knowing why E.A. games isn't supporting WiiU? What's in the know about CNN "opinions" about the Nintendo itself.
3. How do we react from it. Of course it's impossible to have everything be Sunshine and Rainbows on the news front of things. But the important thing to do is. How do we react to it. Your example, NL making funny taglines. And possibly another is to take a break, grab your favorite drink, and go outside or something.
In short, NL don't do bad news on purpose. Sometimes it's good to know bad news, and well have fun.
Now if you excuse me, I need to grab some toilet paper for I am fresh out.
LOL! But yea, that is how I wanna roll. Not all sad and EMO.
Put sparkles on it.
BTW I'm not saying ignore the news, I'm saying stop delivering the information like it's our last meal on death row. Nintendo might be a funky company, but I have a feeling they can weather the storm for a bit longer. Look at the quarterly earnings of EA, Capcom, SquareEnix, Disney Studios and etc. It's bad all over... Stop saying Nintendo is dead, say Long Live Nintendo!
For instance, the article about Nintendo supporting iOS, Java, Flash and Unity was so cut and dry, it didn't mention the plethora of games out there using these tools that have a humongous following. Just off the top of my head I can think of five excellent titles that can come from this.
Akaneiro
Contract Wars
Kingdom Rush
Sentinals: First Wave
Rush Team
For me this story was mostly ignored, and it was a huge positive for Nintendo.
"Toot toot! The Doom & Gloom Express is pulling into the station, making another stop en route toward the predicted potential downfall of Nintendo!" Was at least humorous in it's deliver as opposed to "Wii U Owners Shunned Again As Warner Refuses To Reveal Injustice DLC Release Date".
It's an emotional roller coaster no one wants to ride. I think we are all well aware of what is happening and yet no one talks about the economy or it's effect on the gaming industry. If you are going to be so simplistic as to miss the point of what I'm saying, it's your loss. There are many better ways to describe whats going on right now at Nintendo than just post another reason why they are failing. It's actually lazy to not talk about why things are happening and to truly understand the root of the problem.
It's a lot easier just jumping on the "Doom and Gloom Express."
Here's an idea, stop wasting time on the Internet; go outside and do something, pick up a secondary hobby, read a book, ect.
And then come back in June when all the happy news floods in. Simple.

NL is here to report on news about Nintendo. If things are going bad for Nintendo, they're going to write just that. Having them sugarcoat every negative article with sunshine and rainbows would just cloud the actual problem; that Nintendo isn't the perfect gaming company that fanboys think it is and that nothing bad can ever happen to them. I don't like to see Nintendo doing badly either, but it's foolish to deny the facts.
To be fair, if you've ever gone to PushSquare, everything is mainly dead silent over there. The PS fans choose to troll the Nintendo site, going as far as migrating to the Nintendo site because there is more going on there from my point of view. I don't think we need two threads like this though(one in general discussion).
Seriously? Rather than cry about Nintendo having negative press, go talk to a girl or something. Relax. Just because the site is called Nintendo Life doesn't mean every story has to be positive. They report the news, whether it be positive or negative. Nintendo will be just fine, and so will you.
It's Nintendo related news so it's hardly that important really. In general though you should read news, like actual news news, from sources you don't always agree with. If you agree with everything you read right down to the tone you'll become a victim of groupthink.
And despite how fun and good a product the Wii U is it's hardly all sunshine and roses right now. They will probably pick up again after E3, regardless of what Pachter says, when there's a decent lineup of software. Until then people are going to only talk about the known and confirmed stuff. The stuff we can physically look at like Watch Dogs or the numerous third party games not confirmed for Wii U. It really doesn't look that great.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"
But, they have to report the truth. Wii U is having an awful start.
The news they post is usually just hard facts (with the occasional Pachter article to get everyone all hot and bothered); they never personally say "The Wii U is doomed". If the console sees a turnaround in sales, then the news will change as well. On NL there are enough other articles, reviews, threads, etc. to keep anyone interested in Nintendo (or gaming in general) occupied. Focus on those and ignore the news you don't like, I guess.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.
Change the colors of the site to bright colorful tones, hide all real news and replace them with sugar filled praise bombs to nintendo, add some fake super positive sugar coated reviews and change all our avatars to happy faces, ranbows, cupcakes, flowers and cute animals.
Why is everyone so doom and gloom about wii U? I thought it was getting better AAA titles than wii did? Just cause a couple of games skip wii U doesnt mean the end, or not getting a couple of extra maps through DLC. Ive been extremely impressed by wii U's 3rd party support, I only need my ps3 for battlefield and first party titles now
