"Mature" ratings do have some effect on sales, especially with more strict rules in place these days, but to assume that Nintendo wouldn't pursue a game just because of it is ridiculous. I know the "Nintendo=kids" argument has been quite popular since the Wii days (despite some pretty darn bloody games on the system), but to take it overboard like this is a tad bit ridiculous.
If Destiny doesn't come to Nintendo's system it's because the publisher doesn't see a chance at profits. Simple as that.
I don't think it's accurate to say M rated games don't sell on Nintendo. I think it is accurate to say that it is highly unlikely that Nintendo being the most family friendly of the 3 would make it a reasonable idea to pursue M rated games to the same lengths that Microsoft and Sony have done with their 3rd party friends.
Yeah, I have these so called mature games but I find them never to get played again after the first completion. Then it's back to the more fun, less cutsceney, more gameplay type stuff like Wind Waker HD... I will get Watch Dogs and maybe AC4 though but they will suffer the same fate after all the cooler Ninty games release
I just find it interesting how everyone says Nintendo console owners don't buy 3rd party games.
People bought 3rd party games on GCN and Wii. It just wasn't AC, Dead Space, etc. like I posted earlier. It wasn't AAA games on Xbox 360 or PS3, so maybe that's why no one counts them. People were buying Carnival Games for crying out loud. Raving Rabids, Just Dance, etc.
I personally don't like those games either, but they were selling. Nintendo games sold the most, obviously, but there were 3rd party games that people bought. That's why there's so much shovelware, and even they probably made money.
Dora the Explorer, Draw(something or another), Phineas and Ferb. I don't care, they were selling. RedSteel and other stuff like RE was there.

It feels like they give Nintendo cheap knock-offs then complains they don't sell. Then with Wii U they gave ports to a launch system then claim it didn't sell compared to consoles that have been on the market for 7 years. How could a Launch System sell anywhere near a console selling for 7+ years. As we all see many people are asking for 3rd Party. If you think about it even people asking Nintendo to go 3rd Party could also be happy if Nintendo just got 3rd Party, that way they still get their "Mature" games and their favorite Nintendo games.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I only have 1 first party game and 5 3rd pary games. Just saying.
Oh yeah Destiny... I guess we aren't getting it.
On the other hand it is still months away, and for all it's faults Activision hasn't failed to bring it's games to the Wii U yet, so I guess it could still happen.
I am keeping hope but not counting on it. If it doesn't come to Wii U, I might not get it. I would like to play it but I am not going to pay for another year of Xbox Live and don't have a PS3.
I don't think the rating is the main issue either here, let me make it clear. Low install base for a confusing new architecture that Nintendo horribly documented before launch. Also, it would look like the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, not the PS4 or even XB1. What you saw at E3 (running at native 1080p/ 30fps) is not the Destiny you'll find on last-gen platforms. Most devs just throw 360 versions at the Wii U which usually end up running worse when the hardware is actually a little more capable but nowhere near the next-gen consoles.
Additionally, the game is a MMOFPS/RPG, and I'm not sure how Nintendo Network and such works with that, Sony and Microsoft might be cheaper and/or easier for devs.
It comes down to potential profits versus expenditure.
