"Super Mario World" It was bigger and better in almost every possible way. That's why! My favorite is still the original, though. That's why I'm really tempted to download, "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels," someday soon.
Try to take into account the technical and playability improvement between SMB1 and SMB3 even through they were still realeased on the SAME CONSOLE. SMW was just a nicer-looking, nicer-sounding Mario game, but SMB3 no doubt gets the credit for all the improvement that ultimately set what Mario is today. Also, it's a universal reference for level design!
