A subject for debatte. It is said that it´s actually a japaneese misspelling of the name "Errol".
My own favourite: There were about 5 Nintendogames translated to Swedish. The best translation misstake must have been the one in Gameboy RPG "Sword of Hope". The word chest was translated to "bröst". Breast.

Hahah. Where was that? I remember the game also translated "Treant" as "Trädmyra" (literally "Tree Ant")
For the same reason that Link doesn't have a mouth.
Also I knew when I opened this thread someone would immediately say "I AM ERROR."
