Either they are outright lying, or they don't know what they are talking about. Sorry for crushing your childhood. At three years old, it's not possible.

It's very possible. I beat it at 4, and 100%'d it at 5. First game I ever beat, actually.

I wipped my dad on Halo at age 2, (or so my mum says), but I also did play video games since birth, so a child SMB genius a might have been.

You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?

I'm not inclined to believe a number of stories being told. Age can twist memory too. Or on some of them I'm inclined to believe that someone let it happen, or someone had trouble moving in the game.

Well, now this is interesting ... yay, artificial inflation because of one highly publicized sale!

But that NWC is serial number Π (pi). That's gotta be worth something to some rich nerd!

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

At 3, eh, I don't know. 4 years old is more believable because a child is much more cognitive at that age. Which is why they get sent to pre-school. I can remember playing Super Mario Bros 3 when I was 4, but I also remember being absolutely horrible at it. When I was 5 & 6, I was able to beat the game without using warps (I actually have a journal from when I was 6 that I wrote in that timelined by progress in SMB3, lol). However, I'm not saying the 3 is impossible. I had a friend that claims he beat LTTP when he was 3 years old and I honestly wouldn't put it past him knowing how good he is at the game. Is it skeptical? Yes. But I guess still plausible.

KingMike

The only video game I can remember playing when I was 4 was Pole Position. I'm sure I sucked badly at it (I'm still awful but I at least now I can blame the emulation in rereleases such as Microsoft Return of Arcade that the control is WAY too sensitive. I've probably played some of the Namco Museum versions as well but I can't remember how well it controlled there.)
