They were planning and developing the game on Wiiware first, so if anything it should've came out on that system first.
I still don't know what system I'll get it for, but it just makes me a little irritated when microsoft or whomever makes deals to get games first while everyone else has to wait or get's screwed, sorry PSN.

I don't get why that's even a problem. Who cares who gets it first, so long as all of them get the games at all and in good enough condition?

It's mostly just hearing people with other consoles talking about how great the game is while you sit around waiting in agony. D:

This is acceptable. :D I'll probably also get the Steam version when a good sale rolls around, cuz I wants that level editor.

Actually, I think it was part of their contract with Microsoft that they get a months exclusivity and 'teh internets' chapter. That's the only way they could release it on XBLA, as far as I've read.

Sucks really, because they're getting more content and they're getting it first.
Still, Team Meat'll definitely make more money and get a wider audience, and that has to be a good thing!

Downloaded the XBLA version the other night. Barely had a chance to play it at all so far, but i must concur wholeheartedly with Corbie -- f'n great game. It's definitely one of those "i just died a million times but i am still totally having so much fun" games. Awesome awesomeness.

Microsoft paid for exclusivity for one month.
I don't mind, cause I get a level editor.

I've made it to the fourth world, and just three levels in, it's insanely brutal.

...I still have two worlds after this. >.<

So presumably they released that save-bug patch that they planned to release on Monday.

But how do I get it? Do I have to redownload the game? Will that erase my progress? WhatdoIdoooooo?

Doesn't it say that there is an update available when you start the game like almost every other game on Xbox?

It may not have recognized that there is an update yet...? You could try going to the game's page on the market place and see what it says? It might say that there is an update to download where you would normally buy the game like it does on WiiWare?

Well, there's your answer.
Does this game control well with the joystick, or is it better with the D-pad. I think I have to buy this game, but don't know whether to get the PC or Xbox version.

D'oh. Thanks Corbie...I don't want to play it anymore as I'm in some seriously hard territory and don't feel like losing whatever progress I'll make through lucky strokes.

It's fine with the joystick, imho. As someone in another thread (or above?) mentioned, it's only two directions you need to worry about...left and right. Up and down aren't used, so the joystick is fine for banging back and forth between them.

That said, I'm sure the dpad control will be great...but no better and no worse than the joystick control already is. :)

Yeah I quit for now as well. Just too hard to take a chance on it not saving. I do use the d-pad sometimes for certain situations. But I generally use the analog stick.

That save bug doesn't sound too good. Actually, Fallout New Vegas has some save bug that makes your save "corrupted" too. Anyhow, only using two directions sounds perfect for an analogue stick.

It doesn't corrupt your save file (thank goodness!), but the game employs an auto-save feature after each level, or after you beat the par time in a level, or after you collect a bandage...pretty time any time you accomplish anything at all.

Thanks to the bug, at some arbitrary point in the game it might decide to stop autosaving. So when you quit and come back, everything after that point that you've accomplished is gone. An unfortunately problematic glitch in a great game.

In the first world or two, it's not a big deal to re-do what you've done. Beyond that and you'll be saying some serious curse words.

Just unlocked 8-bit Meat Boy, which was insanely difficult as you need 40 bandages to do so. For Corbie that was probably something he did in his sleep, but it took me this long to get that many!

Such a great game. I'm having a lot of trouble in Rapture, as there's one early level that I can't seem to beat, no matter how hard I try. I've beaten a bunch of the levels that follow, though...I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Also, the Internets levels are evil, evil, evil, evil, evil.

...but when will they patch this thing?!

For anyone interested, the XBLA patch should be coming by Nov 21, according to the Team Meat blog.

Also, unlockable characters for the PC include a Head-Crab from Half-Life (HOLY CRAPPING YES) and a goo ball from World of Goo!

Cannot wait to buy this again on the computer. haha
