Man played a 4 player multiplayer slayer matches on Halo for four hours yesterday with a couple friends from work and my son. The game still holds up well to this day. Even though I am not good at FPS I still had alot of fun.

I Never like XBOX from any aspects actually.
But, only these games I want to play :

  • Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 1 - 4
  • The Sims Bustin' Out (Already owned the Gamecube version)

Just only 5 titles, the rest I can find on PS2 & Gamecube. Not a good machine in my opinion.

it was by far the most powerful console and had the best exclusive features like the harddrive, which allowed certain games to use custom soundtracks. great for racing games or games like tony hawk

Eh...
I'm not a kind of gamer like that.
My interest is different, totally opposite with typical male gamers.
Did you see that I typed only 2 kinds of XBOX games that caught my interest ?
Just ONLY Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 1 until 4, The Sims Bustin' Out .

But since I owned The Sims Bustin' Out on Gamecube version, I think I don't need to buy the PS2 / XBOX version.
So, original XBOX left me just 1 kind of game that caught my interest. Just DDR.
And for me, video games that can't offers me with so many titles to choose due to unappealing titles, I will never buy that machine. And that's why xbox is not a good machine to buy for me. I don't buy xbox just for DDR. If there is no other appealing titles to play, it's just wasting my money. Worthless.

Every now and then, a game comes along that empowers you as a player. It allows you to do something that you couldn't before. Halo introduced melee attacks (without having to cycle). That epic gaming moment gunning hordes of aliens, running out of ammo and finishing them off with the butt of your rifle was such a monumental gameplay moment. These moments happen so rarely I think the next time it happened in a fps was CoD4 with the perks. Anyhoo, Xbox brought a defining gameplay moment. Console Morrowind was great too.

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

@6ch6ris6 That’s a great selection of games you have got there!

It only reinforces my opinion that Microsoft were at the top of their game during the original Xbox and early Xbox 360 years, compared to their comparatively weak line-up for the Xbox One.

The number of IPs they could revive is plain to see in your photo; Phantom Crash, Project Gotham Racing, RalliSport Challenge and Kung Fu Chaos (such an underrated multiplayer game).

I can see Jet Set Radio Future at the very end of your shelf. Did you ever get a chance to buy/play Panzer Dragoon Orta, made by the very same folks who did JSRF? Arguably the best game on the original Xbox.

I have always said that the original Xbox felt like a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast, with its fantastic line-up of SEGA games to play; Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, Gunvalkyrie, Headhunter: Redemption, House of the Dead III, Jet Set Radio Future, Otogi I & II, OutRun 2, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, SEGA GT 2002, Shenmue II, Sonic Heroes, Spikeout and ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth.

On the subject of the hard drive, its inclusion at the time is nothing to be shrug your shoulder about, and being able to listen to your own music whilst playing a variety of sports games was a genuinely worthwhile feature. I remember ‘watching’ that music visualiser for ages too. And playing the Zanzibar map on Halo 2 over Xbox Live changed online gaming forever, whether you like it or not.

Although I only owned a GameCube during that generation, as I was only 12 going on 13 at the time, I did enjoy what I played on my friends Xbox and all the (many, many) others who had a PlayStation 2.

@Anti-Matter i understand that you don't want to buy a console only for one game. i just can't understand why none of these awesome xbox exclusives interests you besides a rhythm/dance game.

@Peek-a-boo yeah i wanna get Panzer Dragoon Orta. so far i haven't found a good offer online. i remember that i played a demo of it and i actually liked it even though i really dislike the railshooter genre in general.

I found my interest on PS2 games (Japan version mostly). I only interested with BEMANI games (DDR, Para Para Paradise, Guitar Freaks & DrumMania, Beatmania IIDX, Pop'n Music), K-1 series, Street Fighter Anthology, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Bomberman Land 3, Bomberman Battles, Monster Farm 4, Ka 2 Mr Mosquito Let's Go Hawaii), Taiko no Tatsujin.

Since PS2 is backward compatible with PS1, I can paired with PS1 games that caught my interest, such as Dance Dance Revolution (3rd , 4th, 5th, Extra Mix, Disney Mix), Magical Drop III, X-Men vs Street Fighter, Puzzle Bobble 3 DX, FF VIII, FF IX, FF Tactics, Punky Skunk, Chocobo Racing, etc.

I have no interest at all with shooting, realistic racing, typical Western action games. My gaming interest somewhat kind of Pacifier gamer (Less violences). I found no appealing exclusive titles from xbox, but I found some from PS2.

Beside, I owned White PS2 Slim Japan scph-77000. It looks pretty in White color, just right size, easy to carry. Very contrary with XBOX that still looks bulky, not impressive Black + Green color.
Judging from those aspects, that's the reason why I choose PS2 instead xbox.

So a during a trip to the flea market the other day I picked up Sid Meier's Pirates on the Xbox. I use to play the original on the PC and NES when I was a kid and I remember hearing about the remake on PC and Xbox (I think it was also on the Wii) but I dismissed it fearing that the remake wouldn't hold a candle to the origianl.

Well I picked up it up C.I.B. for $5 and couldn't be happier. It stays faithful to the original in all honesty it seems all they did was update the graphics of course and added a little bit of a story.

If you liked the original or open world games and pirates I highly recommend this game definitely a must have in your Xbox library. It is also BC on the Xbox 360 as well.
