The SEGA games on the Xbox were all absolutely brilliant in their own ways; for me, the original (and the best) Xbox felt like a spiritual home to the Dreamcast because of SEGA and their generous support!
You had the likes of Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, Gunvalkyrie, Headhunter: Redemption, House of the Dead III, Jet Set Radio Future, Otogi I & II, OutRun 2 (I really enjoyed this game!), Panzer Dragoon Orta, Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II, SEGA GT 2002, Shenmue II, Sonic Heroes, Spikeout and ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth (this was quite disappointing though).
Man, I had such a good time with those games, especially Jet Set Radio Future, OutRun 2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta.
I don't think I've ever used the OG Xbox's controller before. How do you y'all like it?
You talking about The Duke? It's ok if you have big hands, my biggest problem was where the black and white buttons were on The Duke compared to the revised controller.
So I picked up Jade Empire from one of my local retro stores for 7 dollars. So far I am enjoying it.

@ekreig: i actually really like the original. the duke. the triggers were great! analog sticks also way better than anything else at that time. and for me the controller felt very comfortable. the downsides were the stupid black and white buttons and the face buttons were too convex. oh and the digi-pad was horrible
i dont have the original controller with my xbox now. i am playing with the revised controller S which is very good.
@Peek-a-boo: sega gt 2002 was so cool! i loved playing the game and listening to my own music from the harddrive. such an awesome feature. i may get panzer dragoon orta. i really liked the demo back in the day, even though i normally don't like rail shooters.
@ekreig: oh no that's not the duke. that's a third-party controller type S. and it's not good. the cable is not long enough and it is of porrer quality than the original microsoft controllers.
I recently got a handful of original Xbox games for dirt cheap from CEX, including Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. It is very Tomb Raiderish and well worth a play. I love that style of platforming. I also got Broken Sword: Sleeping Dragon and Thief 3.
So last night I played the original Halo for the very first time and I have to say is wow. I can now easily see why this game was as big as it was and helped MS stand a chance against Sony, and Nintendo. Sadly though during that era I dismissed the Xbox and Halo. At the time my friends and I were still into Goldeneye so we saw no need for another GPS game so we just ignored Halo, plus it didn't help with all the hype that turned us off to it as well. But yeah if I had played it back then, I could easily say I would have bought an Xbox for it.

Wait until you play Halo 2, it's the best in the franchise.
I sense a disturbance in the force, for Halo 2 - multiplayer asides - is generally considered to be the most underwhelming game in the series. I cannot choose between the second and fourth Halo game in terms of which one of the two is a bit more ho-hum than the other.
I do like the Earth levels in Halo 2 though, especial Delta Halo, but the second half of the game was barely adequate and the ending has to be one of the most anticlimax ending of all time, and in any medium too.
As for legendary mode in Halo 2, I could never even get off the Cario space station. Those numerous elites that board the ship are a major pain in the backside.
