Topic: (original) XBOX

i bought a xbox 2 days ago for 50€. i had one back when it was current gen. great console with lots of amazing exclusive games.

so far i have rallisport challenge 2 and today i got mercenaries, which i really love! that game is so awesome. i plan on getting half life 2, forza, porject gotham racing 2, oddworld stranger's wrath, halo 1 and 2 of course, chronicles of riddick and one of my all time favourites: jet set radio future !!

so many games i wanna play again or that i missed.

any love for the xbox here on nintendo-life? ^^

edit: do you know any active xbox fan forum? i can only find forums for 360 and xbox ONE. thank you microsoft for this stupid name. it is so hard to find things for the original xbox now -.-

I have been thinking of picking one up lately for my retro collection. I never did own one when it was current I had a PS2, Gamecube and PC at the time so all the multiplatform games that I wanted to play like GTA, Soul Caliber or KoTOR I played on those systems. PGR is a great series probably my favorite racing series of all time its a shame that company behind them closed down.

As for an active forum the only Xbox one I know off is Pure Xbox.com but they are more for current gen still I am sure you can find someone there who loves the original Xbox. I am sure you can ask any questions you have over there.

It has the best version of Metal Slug 3 there is (More frames of animation).

(Which makes not basing the latest PC version on that one pretty stupid).

I have one but I'm not too sure if I want to get any games for it. Found out recently that it has zero (I'm fairly sure at least) JRPG's, and most of the other RPGs on it that I am interested in I already have on PC. I'm not too much of a shooter person, especially not on consoles, so I'm not sure what else there is for me. Except for JSRF.

I also have the first Rallisport Challenge, but man that game is so hard. Mess up once and you can't advance to the next round, pretty much.

@Magikarp3 i dont like JRPs so i can't give you any advice on that^^

but like i said i have rallisport challenge 2 and i think you would like it. i havent played the first one though, but the second on is really good. the visuals still look amazing today. as for difficulty i think the game is pretty easy. i have completed the first half of the career and even when you do mistakes you can win races. the second half will be harder though.

I've always wanted one of these since I always see Xbox games that'd I'd like to check out. I was a Gamecube/PS2 owner back in gen 6, and the only people I knew who had an Xbox were my one friend and my cousin.
I always have an eye out for the system, but every time I see one, it's overpriced. I'm not sure where I would put it though, so perhaps it's better this way.

I still can't accept how they ruined Rare and I don't have high hopes for Minecraft's future. But Jet Set Radio Future was awesome... I hope we can all agree on that. Besides SEGA published it.

does anybody know if the xbox has region lock? i live in europe so i have a european one of course. i REALLY REALLY want to play tony hawk's pro skater 2x, but it has only been released in north america.
the game is the first tony hawk games with updated visuals. perfect for me! i really wanna try that

Did they really ruin rare? The stamper brothers wanted out and rare was on a downturn. Out of all the Xbox related rare games only one of them is truly crap. But no one bought them which is why we got kinect sports maina.

i love these triggers and i really missed the massive vibration the controller can pull of.
my fingers are definetly not used to such hardcore play. been playing only on nintendo consoles the last years (wii, DSi, 3DS). no offense. i am a huge nintendo fan but playing on a xbox feels so much different. kinda weird and hard to tell.

today i had the (6 year or so) son of my brother here. i was playing rallisport challenge 2 again and he wanted to show me something on the tv screen and ran towards it. sadly the controller cable was in the way and my xbox was instantly moved a few centimeters on the table. i think it even was like 2 centimeters in the air on one site. shock of my life! i thought the disk-drive would be seriously damaged after that. i didnt even have time to show the kid how angry i was, because i was too worried about the console

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge was a game i really enjoyed back in the day that i haven't seen mentioned.

The multiplayer was so great!

I'm sure there's still plenty I left out but that's just sum of them. I know some were multiplat that I listed but a lot of the time the Xbox had the best version. I thought it was a great console and don't regret getting one day one at all.

yeah i paid a little too much. i think they are more expensive in europe though. mine is from a videogame store. online would have been cheaper but i hate buying things online.

@6ch6ris6 Yea I played it. One of my friends bought it and it was a pretty good game. The controller really made it feel like a mech. Now the 2nd game on 360...well...it was crap.
