I pre-ordered the game a couple days-ago, I borrowed Fallout 3 from a friend and didn't return it on time because I was too busy playing it. Oh and the questions:
First Thing I Did After Leaving Vault 101?
I wondered around killed the first sign of human life, killed a couple of ho-bo's, then went into Megaton, accepted the mission to blow up the place and ran to tenpenny tower and watched the explosion. Then the next morning I got up killed Mr. Tenpenny, took his sniper rifle and clothes and threw his body off the edge

There's no code. You just become friends after you do the dish quest, and the Brotherhood of Steel (associates of his) give you access.

It's possible that you intimidated him into giving you your father's info. Or maybe you bribed him...I don't recall if that was an option. There could have been a speech challenge as well...but yeah. Looks like you just skipped the quest, one way or another. Which is fine, except that now I don't think you can get into the monument.

Nooooooooooooo! Anything good in there cus I think I intimidated him or bribed him like you said. Oh well now I know what to do next time through. Thanks. I actually think I stole the info out of his office. Is that possible?

One more question. Are the expansion designed to be fully leveled since I'm starting over I don't think ill be able to do them right away. Just got a points card and want to get 2 of them.

It's possible you stole the info, yeah...there are a lot of ways to complete (or avoid) the various quests in Fallout 3, so I wouldn't be totally surprised if you were able to locate a scrap of paper or a journal or something instead. And no, I don't think there's anything good in the Washington Monument. At least, not to my memory. But it is a very convenient (and gorgeously scenic) safehouse. I think there's also some minor survival gear/food strewn around from previous occupants. It's worth checking out if you decide to play through again.

The expansions can be played at any time after you purchase them. You'll get a notice on your Pip Boy telling you where to go in order to start enjoying them. Broken Steel is the exception, as I don't THINK that takes effect until after the game would normally end. I might be wrong, though. I know it has some new monsters/NPCs that it adds to the game, but I have no idea if you can run into them prior to the end of the game proper.

Thanks ChickenBrutus! Since I reformatted the system I don't have a choice but to start over LOL!

@CB: The effects of Broken Steel do take effect as long as it's installed (Ghoul Reavers, Mutant Overlords and Albino Radscorpions all get added to the game, and your level cap is raised). The only ones that you can't run into until you're at a certain point in the main quest are the new Enclave troopers...

I forgot how fun this game really is. Just got out of the vault and it told me that the expansion was activated. Good now for decisions.

Survey should I blow up megaton or not. The first time through I used it as my home town! I'm leaning towards evil this time.

@Metroid_Fan: Thanks for the info. I actually have all of the DLC as part of the Game of the Year Edition (I couldn't pass it up!) but I haven't played any of it yet.

@Tech101: I personally couldn't bring myself to nuke Megaton, but if you're leaning toward evil...well...that's a heck of push in that direction for you!

@CB: Lucky! Every time I go to Wal-Mart that GOTY edition of Fallout 3 mocks me and my prehistoric PC...

@Tech: Eh, I wouldn't nuke Megaton; I've got two characters, both of them very evil, and my home base for both is Megaton. What I'm saying is that there's plenty of evil karma to be had without nuking (in my opinion) the best place in the wastes to set up shop. If you're really desperate to be evil and fast, then rigging that nuke to blow will automatically plummet your karma all the way down to "very evil", though...

Had Broken Steel freeze on me for the 3rd time today.
Before anyone buy's the DLC for this game, prepare for frame-rate issues, lag, and the consoles locking up.
The DLC is great but this just begs the question:Who play-tested this before it got certified for release?

Here's hoping New Vegas tackles alot of these bigs and frame-rate issues. It's 2010 and the PS3 has been out for almost 4 years and games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 can run on it without problems so Fallout New Vegas can too.

@TJ: Considering the setting of the game and the minor role the Brotherhood play in New Vegas (according to an interview with the game's producer, some players won't even run into them), I doubt we'll see another character like Liberty Prime...

From what I've heard, most of the DLC is fairly buggy on every platform, though some may be worse. I actually heard that the PS3 version was pretty bad, not sure why.

Here's some new Fallout:New Vegas shots guys.
Keep in mind this guy had to photograph the screen quickly as the people working there at the booths told him that he couldn't take a picture of the screen. Only some sections were allowed but he managed to sneak a few photos in.

Be aware that this does have some spoliers in it. Nothing major. Just things like certain perks returning from Fallout 3 and maybe a new companion which if it is.....makes me very happy.

Graphics wise. It hasn't been upgraded much. However in one screenshot, the draw distance and some of the textures do look more cleaner. Either that or it's just the way he is viewing the TV.
I'm like what I'm seeing though.

@Sean: Cool link, thanks for that (love the guy's account name, too, great Fallout 3 reference)...

As for getting New Vegas on day 1, that's impossible for me since I don't have a PC that can play it or either of the consoles it'll release on. I am very excited for it, though...

That really sucks dude. Sorry about that.
Any plans to get a PS3,360 or PC in the future?
