@skywake: "We also know Nintendo's track record in terms of quality of software. For some that's enough." What about the rest that thinks that's not good enough? What about them? Screw them right? Maybe people want more out of Nintendo,is that asking too much?

Nobody was saying screw them. Just SOME think that's enough. Those who want more out of nintendo CAN wait for nintendo to put out more. They could also outright ignore nintendo. Boycott nintendo. Bash nintendo. Rave about nintendo. Switch "sides" from nintendo. Hey, what they do is up to them.

And guess i'll wait then for a long time!

lol Nintendo doesn't have to wait for you though, and I doubt they pander to fans who boycott and "bash" them anyway; with an audience so jilted there's no surprise if we see games aimed at a more casual, but less entitled crowd.

Of course they won't people who think like me are a couple of hundred. Sad

@skywake: That's a little unfair. I think he's saying that the more sensible way is to make no decision whatsoever until the NX is revealed.
If the point was to say that people making a choice either way before knowing about it are crazy then sure. But that's not what was said. Instead the people who have already made their minds up in the positive were singled out, thus suggesting that the people who have already decided not to get it were reasonable. Really, all positions on this are reasonable IMO, we already know what sort of products Nintendo makes. We know enough to at least make a statement about what we'll probably do when it launches.

I didn't realise that other people's purchasing decisions impacted you so much.......
Absolutely, positively, without a doubt NO I will not buy an NX at launch. I will be waiting to see what it does for at least a year before making a purchase.
Nope. I never bought a console at launch, and the NX of all things is the console that generally has the lowest chance of getting me interested at all. Unless something outstandingly good is getting announced, I'll steer clear of it.
I love Nintendo, but I'm not keen on buying another console from them with the levels of 3rd party support the Wii U had. I only buy one console per generation. Plus, the Wii U is being put to rest too early for me. I was expecting more 1st party from Nintendo like a Metroid Prime or a new Paper Mario (this E3 showing shredded my expectations). At this point, the Wii U is the worst selling Nintendo home console and will end up being the Nintendo console with one of the slimmest 1st party catalogues. Granted, it has some absolute gems in it, but it is slim pickings, indeed.
Assuming the NX is a successor to the Wii U, assuming it is launching in 2016, I'm not getting it before 2018, with a proven track record of commercial success, good Nintendo exclusives and major 3rd party support.
I love you Nintendo, but I'm done putting my ar** on the line for you, without any assurances.
@Samurai_Goroh: Nah, the worst selling Nintendo console is and probably always will be the Virtual Boy. That console brought a whole new meaning to the word "failure", and is probably a good reason why Nintendo doesn't like the idea of VR.
@Aromaiden: The Virtual Boy is out of the equation, in my book. Nevertheless, I replaced that part with "home console", so I hope it becomes clearer to all what I meant.
I can never wait, even if I want to. For me, games, consoles and accessories don't come out fast enough. And I've been VERY happy with every single Nintendo console I've purchased. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo knows how to keep me entertained and happy - even with games and items I wouldn't normally even give second glances to. So yes, I planned on getting NX the very day it's released, and that hasn't really changed. Regardless of what it can/can't do. The games might be another story though since I guess it'd depend on how much money I have left and what's on offer.
Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.
DEfinitely not. After having bought a 3ds right before the price drop, a 3ds xl right before the announcement of NEW 3ds and with the poor performance of WiiU, I will definitely wait and then decide if the system is worth my money.
Sorry but Nintendo is not delivering great services to its customers...
