@YummyHappyPills It's because the PS4 did better than last year. Everyone thought it peaked in 2016, but it's up year over year. And they sold like 4 million or something in December alone.
So I think it's safe to say it was a good year for all consoles.
Sony sales are never really impressive because it's a well known fact it's the new PS2. It's killing it everywhere.
Switch sales are impressive in comparison though. Even if it doesn't top PS4, just to be in the same general ballpark each month is impressive enough as is, given PS4 is the new PS2. Imagine if GameCube was keeping neck and neck with PS2 in monthly sales charts. That would be impressive indeed.
Xbox... I'm definitely impressed since they killed themselves this gen, and a $500 console is a hard sell to most, but that S was like $169 over the holidays. They had to practically give it away to reach those numbers

I could see that late January Direct happening but only if the focus is online multiplayer. The Direct Mini focused on single player and local co-op then a major Direct later focusing on online multiplayer, the paid online subscription, etc.
Even Mario Tennis Aces which Mario sports games are multiplayer focused went the single player and local co-op route by revealing the GBA/GBC style story mode.
They were locked away in stasis, hidden from the human world, in an antiquated piece of obsolete entertainment tech known as a VHS cleaner tape. Their restful prison, where they would remain until the end of time, was foolproof.
But thanks to a greedy shop owner and an analog cinephile named Joe, those mischievous creatures not of this world were free once more. They would make Joe pay for disturbing their slumber.

So... last time I was on this thread, I was complaining that my Switch was shredding battery in standby mode when I took it to work, and would be hot by the end of the day. I have solved the problem: I disconnected from the company wi-fi network. Result: the Switch is cool and the battery power looks the same at the end of the day as when I took it out of the dock in the morning.
Has anyone else noticed anything similar? If I leave my Switch in the case at home (as opposed to the dock), it doesn't lose battery power. I don't think the company wi-fi has a weak signal, either. Weird. Still, at least I don't have to send it back to the big N.
@607jf If you're certain it's the battery, send it to Nintendo ASAP. You don't want to mess with batteries that start bloating. Chances of it catching fire are very slim, but it can always leak, or damage the internals. Although I presume that's less of a problem with the Switch, where there's nothing between the battery and the case. Either way, Li-ion batteries can fail, and they can damage the device as a result.
@Octane I was planning on sending it in next week, I've had it for awhile but it hasn't got worse but I figure I'll get it looked at be for my year is up. I just hope they don't send me a replacement with dead pixels.
Chao!, Nintendo, Need For Speed, Minecraft And More! 3Ds FC-4742-5514-6521.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Not getting excited by a rumor, but, if true, that's FANTASTIC. Maybe it'll be announced in the upcoming Direct? If it comes with The Stick of Truth, I'll preorder it.
