I tried out what you sent me last night, GG, and while i was able to get through the first couple of levels easy enough, the jump from easy to hard happened so quickly... there was one level in particular that took try after try after try for me to finally get it (the one that starts off with one block on the right next to two rows of enemy ! blocks going up and down together with a heart toward the top, and then the other block is more toward the middle of the screen in an area with like nine wall-blocks spread out), and the previous levels had been so easy that it really caught me off guard. I kept running into the enemy blocks just by a hair, though if you made the character blocks 30% smaller as you say, that might've taken care of that problem.

also, I agree with someone else where they said that it's hard to make fine movements with the character blocks. is there any way to slow the movements down so that you don't go quite so far with one press of the button? there were a couple places with narrow gaps to get through that were hard to position the block for, because i'd think it would go through and then it would catch just on the corner of the block because it wasn't low enough to actually clear the wall.

I finally got bored enough to give up (i had like one heart left anyway ) at the one with all the purple arrow blocks that move when you press the space bar (the first level with a key, I think). I know there's a way to get everything to happen the way I want it to in that level, but I kept ending up with a purple block either blocking one end of the path I needed to take or a different purple block blocking off the top entrance to the path I needed to take.

it has potential, GG, but I think it needs more of a gradual rise to the harder levels than the steep jump it has at the moment.

@theblackdragon, the updated version takes care of most problems and makes the game noticeably easier. So a lot of the problems have been kind of fixed. It also takes care of the fine movement due to the more space provided between blocks. Im also working on an easy mode too. I can email it to you if you want, but in my Twitter account in my sig, you can download it.

Also, I'd be interested in helping out with some sprite art. ( i would be able to send it in jpeg or the like format, using programs like paint, photoshop CS3, etc.)

@objection_blaster If you want to help out with sprites, I have no problem with that. the regular sized blocks are 32 by 32 bits, just for your information. So what did you have in mind?

That error is common, and is nothing to worry about. When the two character blocks collide, It should go to the next room, but I only have one easy room with no room afterwards, thats all, I have to make more easy levels and ending room still for the easy levels.

I was about to mention that hotmail blocked the file but then saw about the twitter. Very good so far.Visuals are kind of basic but gameplay makes up for it. I'll be following this game until its finished.
Also really enjoy the music.Is it an original composition done for this game?
EDIT: As a fellow Game Maker programmer are you using the drag and drop method of programming or GML coding?
