I feel as if we gamers overreact about everything. I don't think I am the only one to think that so please, speak about what you think we gamers overreact about, and discuss it.
However, try to avoid something like "This game is over appreciated", we have had too many threads like that.
So I'll start first

Capcom Doesn't Hate Mega Man
A 3 year break is too little to say "Capcom killed Mega Man. I hate them."
And even then, Street Fighter X Mega Man was made with a great help by Capcom.
He's still a large part of their merchandising, and giving him
It's like saying "I hate Valve because they killed Half Life".

Gustavo here!
now I'm going to talk about Capcom hates Megaman!
if it was just a 3 year break I'd be fine(not talking about other people it's just my opinion) but they cancelled all games that would be coming in these 3 years!

now that I finished my baseless illogical fan rant. I must say that I hope you're right Titanics. but if it keeps up for more than 25 years Megaman is doomed...

Except Half Life only had two games in a single series. Mega Man is now several different series of games; Mega Man, Mega Man X, Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Zero, Mega Man ZX, Mega Man Star Force, etc. Not releasing anything is like leaving 6+ series of games to die, which makes several years all the much more noticable.

Him being a large part of their merchandising still but not having any game just makes it worse. Taking a short break with a series is fine, but gamers have repeatedly asked Capcom for more Mega Man over the last few years and gotten nothing.

The crazy overreaction from a few to any news coverage on this site that isn't praising nintendo, as if all they want is spoon fed propaganda, reporting console sales is kind of what I'd expect from a site dedicated to nintendo news, its not within the power of the site to determine those sales so why people get mad and even go so far as to call the site anti nintendo for nothing more than reporting the facts is beyond me, if a news site reports poor economic data that doesn't indicate they are against the country they are reporting on after all, there's just no logic to it really :/

At first when I saw this title, I thought it was about throwing fits after you lose in a game. XD
Anyway, the Wii U is not doomed.
Batman: Arkham Origins is not worse than Arkham City and Arkham Asylum, and it actually a better story than either of them.
Just because you see something in the game referencing Hoenn, does not mean that they'll remake Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

The big one here is the whole "Wii U is doomed!" debate. It's been having a slow start, and yes the sales figures are poor, but the worst case scenario we would have to endure would be another Gamecube situation. I do agree Nintendo needs to start focusing on innovation AND power, so the machine can at least compete with the other systems in the minds of the so called "gamers". (You know who I'm talking about most likely.)

but it also doesn't mean they won't I'm in the group that won't think about it, if it happens "Lucky!" if not "whatever"

the worst gaming overreaction is everytime Nintendo releases an E rated game: "Nintendo only releases games for kids blablabla" and then when they release a T(not M nothing more than T!) these same guys say "wow this game is too mature doesn't fit Nintendo". I know many of those it's annoying

I like this thread.

-Rating a game 7 or 8 out of 10 doesn't mean the reviewer hates it. Also, one reviewer, no matter how prolific the reviewer may be, can't tarnish the overall quality of the game by writing a negative review. If said reviewer can make a sound argument on why he feels about a game then it's fair game.

-If a reviewer accuses a game of being racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory and docks a point for it, there's no reason to send that reviewer death threats.

-Smartphones and tablets aren't going to kill gaming. Neither are re-releases for those systems. They might make it a little different, sure, but gaming will still go on and we won't all be forced to play Farmville and Angry Birds in 2015.

-Boycotts. Just, boycotts. Anybody who refuses to buy a game they would have liked just because the developer did one little thing differently.

-In response to BlatantlyHeroic's point, I totally agree but I figure fan speculation is all in good fun. If a developer wants to add in little hints to a next title, it's not a contract for them to go and make it. It's not like anybody is getting angry that Hoenn remakes didn't happen because there were so many hints towards it, anyway. (And I would be the first person to buy said Hoenn remakes, too!)

you don't know how much I agree with all this! especially the boycotts part, if you boycott a certain company/game they will make things even less to your tastes because they will look for a new consumer market to substitute people like you, and 90% of the times they DO find a way to substitute the boycotters there's no running away from this fact.

Nintendo is not doomed just because they have one failing console on the market right now.

One game alone is not going to save the Wii U. Stop panicking every time one doesn't.

Metroid is not dead.

But yeah,,, I thought this was going to be a nerd rage thread too. XD

People claiming that a 7/10 is bad. And I hate it when reviewer sites can't seem to get their policies in order. If the game doesn't make major improvements they dock 2-3 points, whereas another game does the same and gets a higher score than the original.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

So, the solution is just to support everything a company does even if you dont agree with it? Ridiculous logic here. If someone can stand for their principles and not buy a game, respect to them. The 'I'm just one man' rationalisation is the reason why these things continue. Ever heard of Mass Effect 3? How about the XBox One? Yeah, they really managed to find a new audience for what they were pushing, didnt they?

not saying to support what you dislike but also not boycotting because of a delay of a single feature you disliked, that's what I meant also not asking for other people to join you in your boycotting fever... if no one likes it. it'll fall by itself no need to try to start a "let's boycott insert something here" trend
in other words
if you don't like it don't buy it but because you dislike it not because you want it changed to your tastes!<- guess now I made it clear

Whoever says that Nintendo should axe the Wii U now (and even booting Iwata) deserves to be beaten to death by Segata Sanshiro and Sonic with 32Xs, Saturns and Dreamcasts. The thing is not even in Virtual Boy numbers. Not even in Atari Jaguar numbers. Not even in Ouya numbers, FGS. It just needs time and games. (along some advertising)

Also, the M rating=money mentality makes me sick.

My personal favorite is the Mass Effect 3 ending, which was deserving overreaction, and people still overreacted to something that deserved to be overreacted.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

Most of what I'd mention has already been mentioned, but I'll elaborate on the review scores some more.

I hate it when any game review on this site (especially eShop) gets a 5 or 6, and you get a flood of people calling it shovelware. A 1, 2, maybe even 3, is shovelware, not 5 or 6.

Sure those games might not be for everyone, but even according to this site's grading scale, 5 is nothing less than average, while 6 is slightly above average, decent. They very well have their problems, but if you're a fan of the genré, they're probably still worth a look.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

I think you underestimate the power of gaming journalism. The backlash against Xbox One's always-on Internet connection was amplified through unbalanced reporting. (although the submarine quote really didn't help either) And Microsoft removed the feature. Some might argue, to the players detriment.

So in the case of Wii U, constant stories about a struggling console, at best, do not promote growth, and at worst, contribute towards the failure. I would expect a dedicated fansite, populated by purchasers, to be celebrate the games not trumpet a dud machine.

Reporting nintendo related news is what a nintendo site is supposed to do, if that news happens to be that wii u sales are struggling then that's the news if sales spike like they occasionally do that is also the news, to expect the site to only trumpet the good and turn a blind eye to the bad makes no sense, unless all you want is crazy propaganda rather than truth, it'd be a joke site the day it goes down that path.

That's not what I asked for, really. And I don't think you can suggest that an editorial policy equals propaganda.
