That's not what I asked for, really. And I don't think you can suggest that an editorial policy equals propaganda.
If that policy means turning a blind eye to genuine news that just so happens not to shine nintendo in the best of light then I do suggest that = propaganda.
Ha! I used to write for this site. What editor? He's a spell checker. There is no editorial policy.
Well if you where staff surely you'd know the staff page shows the editors there whether they measure up to your personal standards or not there they are.
Here's how this place works. There is a Nintendo Life e-mail inbox which is used to hold links to news stories from other unofficial websites and the official Nintendo website. They also receive press release from Nintendo and others.
The position therein, is to publish as much as you can. Everything. The more items the better. There is no editorial function.
-Rating a game 7 or 8 out of 10 doesn't mean the reviewer hates it. Also, one reviewer, no matter how prolific the reviewer may be, can't tarnish the overall quality of the game by writing a negative review. If said reviewer can make a sound argument on why he feels about a game then it's fair game.
-If a reviewer accuses a game of being racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory and docks a point for it, there's no reason to send that reviewer death threats.
-Smartphones and tablets aren't going to kill gaming. Neither are re-releases for those systems. They might make it a little different, sure, but gaming will still go on and we won't all be forced to play Farmville and Angry Birds in 2015.
-Boycotts. Just, boycotts. Anybody who refuses to buy a game they would have liked just because the developer did one little thing differently.
you don't know how much I agree with all this! especially the boycotts part, if you boycott a certain company/game they will make things even less to your tastes because they will look for a new consumer market to substitute people like you, and 90% of the times they DO find a way to substitute the boycotters there's no running away from this fact.
At the risk of over quoting and sounding like a joiner, I was going to say/ agree with that. Especially the boycott and review part.
I can understand not liking a game because of the genre and/or gameplay doesn't appeal to you, but it's going a bit overboard to boycott the company because it's missing a feature the other platforms have or because of being delayed. Makes it worse when they try to get other to do it even if they have no interest/ knowledge of the game to begin with. In most cases that I've seen (mainly with Wii U), publishers just think the audience for the game isn't there and wouldn't make a next game for the platform (I'm sure we know the stories). A double-edge sword that mostly cuts the wielder.

Just because you see something in the game referencing Hoenn, does not mean that they'll remake Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

This whole "Gen 3 remake rumours" is more wishfull thinking than anything else.
Kalos is based off France
An interesting fact about France is that it is the biggest vacation area as of recent statistics.
In fact, in 2012, France had over 83 Million tourists visiting. The most toured area in all of 2012. It also means that there are much more people touring France in a year, rather than people living there (The current population is roughly 65 Million)
With that in mind it would make sense that tourists would talk about what region they came from, whether it was Hoenn, Johto, or Unova, because they are trying to emphasise how big of a tourist area Kalos is.
me in any game discussion when I don't notice the other person is just kidding!

The negative reactions to Metroid Other M have been very overblown. It's been more than 3 years since the game released and that game is still getting bashed often. Other M appears to not have the luxury Hunters had where people just forgot, which is unfortunate for the franchise as Other M's no longer taking damage, that damage has been done, the franchise is what's biting the bullet now over and over.
"The secret to ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster."
I agree about the criticism of Other M and that brings me to another topic, Paper Mario: Sticker Star. I can understand how people could be disappointed when the game didn't turn out like the traditional RPG we all though it would, but the hate it gets is overwhelming. It's by no means without flaws, but some people go crazy and say it doesn't even qualify as a game at all.

Believe me, Other M's portrayal of Samus was a complete clusterf-k from start to finish. And coming from Sakamoto himself it won't go out of our minds soon (unless he decides to retcon the hell out of it)
Just the very discussion of Other M is talked too much.
I said this in some thread the other day: We make an other M thread every month. By now, everyone on this site should have a final opinion on the game, whether you think its viable or not.
Yeah, I really enjoyed Paper Mario Sticker Star. I played it before reading any reviews or things that people were saying about it. And I really enjoyed it! I have never played Other M, but I imagine it's nowhere near as bad as some people'd have you believe...
