According to the research, Nintendo is the 10th biggest games company going by revenues in the 1st Quarter 2014. It should be noted that for companies like Microsoft and Apple, only the revenues that come from their gaming divisions are counted. Some figures are also estimates (so Apple is estimated to have made $648mil from games, presumably with most of that from it's 30% cut of games and IAP sold on the app store)
To be fair, this list is too specific to determine how "big" a company is. I would use a number of other factors such as employee numbers, expenses and # of products by year

Tencent own League of Legends and have a large stake in Epic (makers of Unreal Engine). But they're a huge company that do all sorts of non-gaming stuff in China like online advertising and social networks.
Who cares if Nintendo's on 10th? Who even cares about this site? All we know is that Nintendo is in many ways better than say EA, King, and all other of those companies and doesn't shut down companies on purpose (well maybe for Sora but even then, that was owned by Masahiro Sakurai and it was partly owned by Nintendo and HAL).
I wonder if the big companies will have their end or not? I mean seriously, because of these huge third party publishers, many of the studios are either bought or closed down making competition even worse. It should be illegal and I hope that there's a law for this buying prank.
Konami is up there? what has Konami done recently besides those 2 Metal Gear games?

They also have Castlevania, Pro Evolution Soccer, and various other games that they put out last year. In fact, Castlevania has had two games over the past year.
Metal Gear may be their biggest IP, but it's hardly the only thing they have.
Quite a few of these are based on Estimates, including Sony's. And as somebody said, it's based on Revenue, which personbally is not how I'd want to rank a company, at least not on anything that matters.
