Topic: Multiplatform sites that you believe are non-bias to Nintendo.

It's hard to find an unbiased review anywhere anymore. Sure a review is supposed to reflect the reviewers opinion and tastes but it is also supposed to give the audience an idea of what is done well and done poorly in the media/item in question. However, most of this is because of the ease of access people have in todays world to give their opinions. No longer do people have to go to college for Journalism or whatever specialty they might be doing reviews on, all we need now is a computer, phone or anything else you can access the internet with to create a blog for reviewing whatever you want to review.

We even have an entire subculture that consists of nothing but reviewers such as the Angry Video Game Nerd, That Guy With the Glasses, Irate Gamer, Yahtzee (who I am convinced couldn't find happiness in heaven) and all of their imitators. Long gone are the days of Siskel and Ebert and their thumbs up/thumbs down based on the merits of the quality of the media, now we have the "ironic review" (as I call them) that puts less emphasis on what is good and focuses squarely on the most trivial problems a game has. A game such as Kid Icarus would be panned today because of it's difficulty even though when it was released gamers loved the challenge. A game like SMB3 would be considered horrible because it doesn't have realistic graphics or physics. Basically, reviewers have quit basing a score on the actual play of the game and shifted to the asthetic quality that it hold. Until that changes or nintendo decides to make a graphics powerhouse that rivals Sony or Microsoft there will never be a multi console site that judges Nintendo without bias.

Everyone is bias to an extent whether they want to admit it or not. I am not a Nintendo die hard. I own other consoles and I do not buy based on brand loyalty. Reviews are just opinions, nothing more. Only reason I come to this site is because the design is nice and they are usually faster with the Wii news and the people are friendlier as a whole.

Sites I go to. CheatCC, IGN, Nintendolife (obviously), Games Radar, Gamespot, 1up, Gamepro, Official Nintendo Magazine, Gametrailers (the best video reviews in the business), g4tv.com, Destructoid and once in a while I visit Giant Bomb.

Instead of worrying about who is biased or not I appreciate there are so many sites that have reviews on the products I enjoy. Granted I may not agree with every review but that = difference of opinion. Oh and best of all the reviews are free of charge unlike magazines, they report just as much news and usually the reviews are longer and more in depth than what you find in a magazine like GI.

Half the games that the AVGN reviews are horrible and he has even stated that he only does it because its funny. Yahtzee hates everything but half-life.

I am non-bias towards Nintendo.

I hope you're kidding. I read all the current stories on the front page and every one of them twisted quotes into some kind of diss against non-Sony platforms. (Except the stories on Sony stuff, which obviosuly was glowing.) Their thing on NSMBW being "disappointing" is a prime example of this.

Yeah, I'm starting to think SDF is some kind of parody site. There's no way a serious gaming site could be that blatantly biased to one company and so harsh to everyone else.

I agree with you. I only included him because he does have his fans (for some unknown reason) and I've found that dissing him tends to bring his fanboys to argue against that notion in droves. But to be honest, AVGN, IG and Yahtzee have all worn out their welcome to me. AVGN will drink a Rolling Rock beer while making up cuss word combinations that are on par with a John Cena "poopy" promo, IG will just copy an AVGN video and replace the made up cuss word combinations with slightly altered cuss word combinations and Yahtzee will just be an unbearable ***clown (if he's just doing a character, he's doing a great job of ticking me off lol). They're all predictable and boring to me. TGWTG has it down pat so he doesn't get boring or old, he changes up with the different characters.

I forget the name of the show, but back in the late 80's or early 90's there was a show that did reviews on games. Most of them were for the NES or SNES but occasionaly there would be Master System, Neo Geo, Genesis and TG-16 games. It was awesome to watch and the reviewers were actual gamers but they knew how to review. I still remember the review of Super Castlevania from it and the episode of WWF Superstars that followed it because it had the TV debut of Razor Ramon. Weird the way you can remember stuff from almost 20 years ago but not last week.

The best part of that entire story is the comments that tell them how much BS they're full of.

Why would you even GO to a site called "Sony Defense Force" and expect anything BUT absurd bias? Whether it's a joke site or serious, no non-Sony fanboy in their right mind would set digital foot there for any reason. No reason to post that they're full of crap...just leave! That's what I did.

I don't need a site to tell me which games I want to buy.

But if I become interested in a game (through magazine features or "coming soon" articles on this very site), I'd mainly check this site or Gamefaqs reader reviews to help me decide. I read the most favourable review and the most scathing review, but the consensus of the reviews doesn't always affect my decision (though it helps if a review details a particular flaw with a game)

If you want fair and unbiased opinion on a game, shun the staff writers if you think they are going to be biased in any way, and look to the consumers like you and me. I find GameFaqs is a good site for this.

Why would a serious review website be biased. More often than not they have one crew for wii, one for ps3 and one for 360 etc. IGN has dedicated Wii reviewers who doesn't even touch the other systems in their work so why you believe them to be biased I have no clue. Uneducated slander if I ever saw one.

I was watching his "Yahtzee reviews Washington DC" video and couldn't help but hope that, during the times they are in the car and he's being his usual dull self, that a car wouldn't fly out into the intersection and t-bone his vehicle right in the front passenger side. REVIEW THAT!

Also, what were you expecting from NSMBWii? I was really hyped and still I thought it was even better than I expected

I was expecting a good 2D Mario game. Nintendo didn't give me one.
