I'll agree with the Halo games, though i will admit they are excellent for what they are, and the controls are near-perfect for a standard console FPS. But for whatever reason, i never really like the games despite being a huge FPS-guy back in the day (starting with Wolfenstein, Doom, etc). I think maybe by the time i played the Halo games (starting with 2), i was burnt out on FPSs. To this day i tend to play them rarely (at least newer games), unless there's something that hooks me or draws me in.
Plus, i tend to prefer more "realistic" FPSs (Doom games non-withstanding), that is, games where you're shooting other humans (or humanoids). Not too big on the whole space marine vs aliens thing, at least not in my video games.

Oh, and ALL GTA titles, they get so repetitive and mindless. The concept to me is just stupid from the start.
Same here, see how bad you can be before you go to jail.

I think almost everyone on this site agrees. Halo sucks. Okami is fun and stuff. It's a great game. but not 9/10. I thought it was really good for a while, and then it started to bore me, so I started other games and I haven't played it in two months. I need to finish it eventually...
Many Halo haters don't actually own Halo, they just say they hate it because its......well, become a symbol of hate them. It's everything Nintendo isn't. Quick poll, out of everyone who said "Halo" here, how many of you not only played it, but own it? Kinda a pointless poll because if you don't have it you'll say you do, but I digress.
I'd have to say Halo 3. Doesn't deserve 9s and 10s, the campaign and story is terrible, online is boring, and load times are enormous. More of a 7.5 myself.
@grenworthhero: The Halo series is overrated, that's for sure, but it does not "suck" and is not bad. It's simply average (unless you play with pals of course).
Why do you have to own it to hate it? It just takes some actual hours of Gameplay to not like a game. I dont own Halo because when I played it I hated every second of it, plus I cant afford an Xbox 360 right now anyways. There is a reason people rent games, to see if they are good before they go buy them. I played Halo 2 when me and my family went to visit another family we have always been friends with. So then they have their 10 year old son who kept asking me to play halo with him. Not only were the controls terrible, but the gameplay was completely dull. Shoot the aliens. But Ive gotta admit that my experience was worsened with a 10 year old yelling DYE U MOTHA' F***ER, DIEEEEE< DIE DIE DIE. But still, that isnt enough to not make me realize how overrated and dull the game was. Boring.
Okay, I can agree with that. Halo does not suck. But it is very average. Nothing special. In fact, I'd rather play Goldeneye Rogue Agent. And that game was as average as it gets. No I don't own Halo, and for good reason. The same reason I don't own an Xbox 360. There's nothing about it I like. I've played all three iterations of Halo, without any prior opinions, and all three left me bored, and very confused about its hype. As for Okami...I don't know. It's not a bad game, it's just not my thing. Even though it's very much like Zelda in many ways...I still just didn't get too much into it. I played it for hours at a time, and then it just got old.
@WhoKnew I didn't dislike Galaxy, but I do think it's quite possibly even more overrated than Halo. Not because it's a worse game, but because people put Galaxy on a pedestal above all other games, and it's just not that good. It didn't bring anything new to the table. The universal exploration was cool, but it got old when every level was the same. I didn't like any of the powerups because I thought they were just made to look cool and innovative but they did little to nothing. They just continued the same thing SM64 started; a hub world with access to levels with several different stars to collect inside of them. Isn't that one of the things Mario Sunshine was criticized for? Yes, so why is it acceptable now? It's shouldn't be. If anything, it should be less acceptable, because it was already criticized for being unoriginal and they did it again. I'm not saying it's a bad game. it was a lot of fun and I liked it, but why does this game get so much hype? It's not deserving of its high rating, in my opinion. An 8/10, but not 12/10, as so many people seem to think.
Wow all you people base halo off one time plays. Your all wii fanboys, you cant atmit that halo is the best fps, just cause wii couldnt make a good fps for its life. Halo is not over rated and deserves all the 10/10's in the world.

You, my friend, epitomize everything I hate about Halo.
In my opinion if a game is a 10/10, it shouldn't take more than one play to convince you it's at least worth playing again. And Halo didn't. Neither did Halo 2. Or 3. And I seriously doubt--no matter how many "Halo"s they make to milk more money off of the fanboys like yourself--that any of them will be good enough to convince me to play more than once. I can't think of a single game I decided I liked better on the second time. In addition, there's really not a whole lot to FPSs, for it to ever require a second playthrough. I don't want to play Halo again, because there are better games out there. I know that, because I play a lot of video games. I know a good game when I see it, even if it's on the first playthrough. I didn't like FF8 the first time I played it, but I played it again and...no, wait, I still didn't care for it. The difference is I know FF8 is actually a good game. For Halo I cannot say the same
Clubhouse Games... It was fine at first, until I realized that I was merely using the game as an electronic instruction manuel to play the games with REAL cards and REAL people. Plus the wifi rooms are about as empty as an Xbox fanboy's pockets.
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon! Cipher Trailer
I've gotten alot of beef for this in the past, but Half-Life 2. I didn't really care for it. I finished it of course but there's alot better shooters out there.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

Hey hey hey! I have played through all the Halo games and I have to admit it sucks balls on single player but it dose deserve it's high ratings when it comes down to the multilayer etc...
