Topic: Enough with the Random? A.K.A 'The Super Fun ,100% ,Anti-Random, Random Thread' Dump your thought's here.

Ok ,before I start I just wanna say I know this is the General Discussion section which covers a pretty large spectrum of subjects and I'm all for it ,but I'm getting kinda sick of these random threads on here.I'm all for the funny threads and stuff ( I started one called Star Fox or Megan Fox for ***** sake!) but these threads that are just purely made to get more comments than another random thread are getting ridiculous and clogging up what used to be one of the best parts of NL.I like it when a serious thread goes of on a tangent, they can be seriously funny and random, but purposeful randomness does not equal random. Sorry to be ranting guys but there ****** me off, I'm not sure why I just wanted to put that out there and see what other people thought!

Some people like me just like to be random. Sorry if it gets out of hand. Mostly I post on a random thread just to have fun. Some threads were like how you described but I think they were done away with. After that, we stopped the whole "Get more comments than the other" thing. Besides the only ones that are really active now is the "Random thread" and the "3 Word Story" threads

Last time I checked there is currently only 1 Random thread in use. The Bahamut ZERO thread did turn to a random post contest, but it is deleted. And the other random thread is supposed to find out if we are male or female, but it went wrong, and is barely used anyways. So I woudnt say clogged. Rather that one of these is greatly popular. You dont have to take part in them, there is basically 3 people who are on that thread, me being one of them. All in all, I believe your taking things out of proportion. Only two Random threads, and only one that is currently popular. That doesnt seem clogged to me.

I think the random stuff is getting a bit out of hand. If you guys can have just one thread going for your random remarks, that'd be great.

Edit: Oh, those were deleted? Okay cool.

@pixelman: Yeah, it's mostly one thread now that is purely random.

Im only in one random thread which will always be the place to post my randomness.

I sent an email to NL because its getting ridiculous, its getting as bad as yahoo answers with all the nonsense record chasing for record chasings sake.

I'll admit it, I go off-track way too often. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone by derailing your topic; it's just the way I am and I hope you can understand. I'll try to stay on-topic as much as possible, but I'm not making any promises.

I too thought their were too many random topics in GD; however, now that we only have one or two, I think it'll be okay, as long as we keep it this way.

It's not just the random really, stuff like the doctor one or compare the avatar to the person above stuff as well,I don't know, it just annoys me that it's always at the top of the thread list which I then feel compelled to click on (don't ask me why) and then wish I hadn't bothered,stuff like the make up a story thread's could be good if you tried to have some cohesion something intresting may come out of it but while it revolves aroud remarks like "Then mario went to Mega man's house to take a dump" it will forever remain a very tedious exercise.. I guess the average age of the people on these forum's has gone down of late maybe? I'm not saying they should be deleted just airing my views on them and wondering what other people thought.

Maybe it's because I don't look hard enough, but I never really saw those kinds of remarks in the threads I've been to. I try to avoid inappropriate things like that as much as I can.

Its because people make a random thread, how about you start a serious conversation thread. Ill support you with it as well as the random one too.

I think we need only one random topic. I made one awhile back, but everybody is flocking to Chadthegamer's topic instead.

As long as it's only one topic, It's OK with me.

I reckon our American friends have got time to turn this into another random thread, while the monkey's in bed.
