Jimmy Kimmel's (all show Tuesday night) impersonation of Jay was perfection. It showed just how much of a hack Jay is. If you are a fan of Conan or Jay you owe it to yourself to find it on hulu and watch it if you haven't seen it. It's marvelous. Hopefully, now that all of this is going down a lot of people will turn their back on Jay after The Late Shift part 2. Didn't Jay say he was retiring because he wanted out. Then he decided he didn't want to retire after Conan was offered the Tonight Show, but it was too late.
IMO, I think Jay knew that if he went to 10 everything would fall apart, and so did NBC. Then they would have to put him back at 11:30 because Conan was not capable of pulling in the big ratings (according to Neilsen).
(Just letting that out, dont mean to make anyone angry who like Jay.)
I wish they would turn down the crowd noise, when the crowd laughs or claps or cheers on any of those shows (I used to like Jay when I was younger) it's always so much louder than the host. I have to turn down my tv when the crowd starts.
I myself prefer Conan, especially in this situation. Give him more time to do his thing, seriously.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Jay is fine. But i've been a Conan fan since he was writing for SNL (and later, The Simpsons, of course), so i definitely have to pull for Conan. I went to a couple tapings of Late Night a few years after he took it over, and got to tour the backstage a bit (not with Conan) as my friend's aunt works in the Late Night costume/wardrobe department (she's worked on the show since Letterman's days). Even with the cameras off (before the taping, during the commercial breaks), Conan was "on", clearly having a great time doing what he does. Other talk shows i'll check out depending on who the guests are; with Conan, i don't care who the guests are, i just enjoy Conan.
I like them both but my favourite has to be Leno, I dont know if I like the Leno show better than Conans show but Jay performs fantastic standup gigs outside the Leno show,
In general i don't like Fallon, but i do like his show somewhat. The Roots are awesome, for sure. The whole Saved by the Bell stuff is great (and the interview with Mark Paul Gosslear as Zack was pure gold), and the show has the benefit of that "we're on at 12:30 so NBC doesn't really care what we do all that much" mojo.
