Hi people. I've seen stuff on this site about people getting banned, and I was wondering something. If someone really wanted forgiveness and wanted back on the site, would they get it?

Not that I know of, one of my friends got banned and he now says that he hates the site, I really hope I don't get banned.

You can ask politely to be unbanned. Just say a resonable apology and you shoud be able to come back to Nintendolife.

Actually, I'd like to see the admins' response

I suppose it depends what the person was banned for and if they can behave themselves upon return. I see no reason why they wouldn't be forgiven if they apologised and agreed to conduct themselves appropriately.

From the community guidelines:
https://www.nintendolife.com/rules

Warnings, Suspensions & Bans
Depending on the severity of the violation of rules, the member will be dealt with accordingly.

  • Under normal circumstances, the member will be issued a single warning and an explanation.
  • Under heavier circumstances the member will be issued one or more warnings and may be temporarily banned, pending a conversation between admin and user.
  • Under extreme circumstances, being an extreme violation of rules or disruption, the member will be banned from Nintendo Life.

All actions are decided by staff only and are not open to public debate, they remain a private issue between user and staff and therefore should not be discussed by other users.

If you find your account has been banned, you should first contact us and talk to us about it, we're actually quite nice people and given a short, polite apology we'll no doubt be more than happy to re-activate your account knowing that you have learnt your lesson.

There was one user, can't remember his name, but i think he was really annoying in a forum, and even though he asked to be forgiven, i haven't seen him.

Hopefully the banned person could forgive the site. It is always interesting who gets accepted or rejected on gaming forums.

IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant.

Well, the only thing I can suggest regarding members who want to be reinstated into the forums is to contact us.

Users who are banned are done so after several warnings, or if their behaviour has seriously been to the detriment of the site. I'd prefer it if everyone got along grand and we didn't even need to ban users - that way we could all enjoy what the forums bring to the site (and we could get more reviews and content up for you lot!)

But, the bottom line: all the circumstances are different, but users certainly don't do themselves favours when they cause us to ban them.

So, admins, if anybody who was banned came and truly, truly, apologized and asked to be forgiven, would they be?

As everyone already told you: it depends, sonicmaster. Just contact them, do 10 hail marys, and pray for forgiveness.

why'd you call me sonicmaster?

Because it's very obvious that you are sonicmaster. "Oh, my 'friend' has a problem" is the second-oldest trick in the book, right after "what's a girl like you doing in a place like this".

Fine, I admit I am. But, admins, I TRULY, TRULY, TRULY, TRULY am sorry. I was a complete idiot, and I shouldn't have been so obnoxious. I love this site, and I don't want to be banned. Pleeeeeeeeease forgive me.

But how could you just assume he's SonicMaster? That's like me saying to you that YOU were SonicMaster. And who is SonicMaster?? I've heard of hime several times before, but never found out who he was...

EDIT: Never mind...
