Topic: nintendodsicenter.com Is this legitimate??

Hi! I recently purhcased a Dsi XL (love it and love DSiWare). Anyhoo, in my searches for DSiWare games and such, I ran across this site nintendodsicenter.com. It states you can download any Ds DsiWare game FOR LIFE for a one time price of 39.95. That just doesn't seem right. Does anybody know anything about this? It must be a scam....right??

yeah, I am sure it is a scam, since Nintendo would not allow this, at all. Chances are they give you the roms for it (which are illegal) and you have to load it onto your own DS chip. I won't go into the details how, as I know about it, but I do not approve of illegal games. I would avoid that site from now on edit btw, let me be the first to welcome you to Nintendolife. It is a great site here, so make sure to play by the rules.

Yes, I believe there is. Chances are Ninty hasn't found it yet. You could always report it if you want to (I think).

Nintendo probably doesn't know about it, but probably will try to shut it down if they find out. And you are right again -- there definitely are legal ramifications, it's just a matter of what happens when they get caught.

Probably the same reason that haven't shut down NintendoGal.com. I think Nintendo knows it wouldn't accomplish anything other than pissing people off by shutting down all the websites with Nintendo in the address that didn't actually belong to Nintendo.

It might be based in a country like Russia or China where it wouldn't really be feasible for Ninty's legal arms to take them to court and shut them down. I guarantee the site owners are not in someplace like the US, they'd get shut down immediately.

Not only is it a scam, but to the best of my knowledge, the DSi isn't cracked yet, so you can't even play roms on it. You'd be paying $40 for nothing.

According to my flag add-on, the website is in America.

Let's hope they don't do that, eh?

Really? What statistics are these? From the Institute of Air-Number Plucking, no doubt! Anyway, it is indeed a scam and I've reported it to the Entertainment Software Association so we'll see if anything comes of it. You never know.

current-gen Nintendo retail games are made available at retail only, and DSiWare is only available via the DSi Shop. anything else is piracy.
