As an owner of a DSi, iPod touch, and PSPgo, I can say this: The iPod touch is a PERSONAL MEDIA PLAYER The DSi is a GAME CONSOLE Spot the difference? And I agree with theblackdragon.
This topic is not as far-fetched as some might think. I wanted a DSi when it first came out, but I held off and then I noticed that the DSiWare offerings were mostly pathetic. I started to seriously consider the iPod Touch. Say what you will about IGN, but Levi Buchanan is a big proponent and has made some good points about it.
Ultimately I haven't been able to justify either purchase, as they add so little to what I can already do with my DS Lite and my iPod Classic (apps or not, I can fit a lot more music and video on my classic). So I ended up getting a Wii instead...
Moco Loco If you find yourself spiritually drifting (as I was for far too many years), remember that Jesus can and will walk across the water to reach you and bring you back to shore.
Although the games cost more they are definetly worth there price in comparison to the Ipod Touch which are just small little time consumers.

Well, a DSi is meant for Games, but it plays music and does some other things, and the Ipod touch is meant for music, but it plays games and does some other things. It's like trying to compare apples to oranges. I personally lie the DSi better, because I am a gamer.
Just let it happen.

I have to say that if the DSi wasn't falling into my lap I probably wouldn't have one because I'm just not into mobile gaming generally and I do see an iPhone in my future. If I had an iPhone I'd use it as a phone, music player and get a few apps, but I doubt I'd be a software hog like I'm going to be with the DSi. It seems like apples and oranges to me. If the DSi was also a phone and played AAC files then I'd have a decision to make. The LL is too big to go in my pocket like the iPhone, doesn't make phone calls and doesn't play my music format, so there's really not a choice/comparison here.
As a gamer, I prefer the DS because it's cheaper, it has much better and a lot more games, it doesn't break on the first drop, it doesn't have a lot of crap i'll never use....etc.
Current games: Everything on Switch

You must really like using crap, then. No one can deny that DS has a lot of shovelware.

As does the iTouch, but what I meant was on the system itself

@seanAaron I thought that AAC was the only file the DSi COULD play.... it doesn't work as a phone, I tried it already.
Really? I thought it was MP3? Well, even if it does play music I cannot get a big enough SD card to put all my music on it and it doesn't fit into my shirt pocket like my Nano 3G, so it's just not going to happen. The iPhone for music makes loads of sense because for the first time I'd know when I was getting a call when walking about (I never can feel the vibration through my jacket)!
I prefer my DSi better i love it so much i never put it down, i dont own a ipod touch and dont care for it.
How can you "prefer' something over another if you don't have one? Or are you implying that you've tried someone else's?
I frankly see the App Store absolutely decimating what's available for the DSi. Why? Thousands more titles and most of them are $1. And there's no file size limit (or if there is, it's much larger.) The ratio of crap to decent or above is probably worse on the App Store than the DSi, but in the long run, I feel it offers much more.

It isn't a fair comparison. Game-wise, the DSi is superior. It doesn't matter how much cheaper the games are; the games on the DS have more depth, gameplay, love, etc. The Iphone/Ipod Touch does everything else better, i.e. music, internet browser, movie player, etc. I have both and I can say that they are both worth getting, but for different reasons. Never compare them.
Best thread ever

The main purpose of the Itouch is a media player. Its funny how the Ipod touch's commercial's only show it playing games. The games are fun, but the DS(i) games are better. But the DSi does lack video playback and YouTube and the ITouch has a wider variety of apps.
The DSi wins though.
I second that. Even though Ive never owned a Ipod or Iphone,I would love to see more games ported from there. Like the Sims 3 would be a perfect fit for the dsi or dsiware(im not sure if that would fit for the dsiware file size limit) The you tube video makes that look like the best portable sim game ever.........imho i SECOND THAT
