This game is the business. I see a sequel for sure and really really hope the sales were good enough to drive this.
EXTREME ENDING SPOILERS
They can pull off a sequel no sweat. The Temsik meteorite is still in the ground. There is also a fragment in in Jowd and Sissel. So if they wanted they could add to new characters/ powers just by having someone die around them. Missel and Sissel are self aware of their powers and could put them to use immediatley in the next game as well. The new time line offers up a slew of possibilties for new stories and allows the continuation of the established characters. Make it happen Capcom!!
I guess they could come up with a sequel on those grounds, but where would they go with it? GT's story is gonna be an insane act to follow, lol... i guess they could bring back the blue guys (or some of 'em anyway, i think Beauty and her little beau got blow'd up in the end credits, haha) and have some kind of epic battle to bring their country to ruin, he's still got that chunk of the meteorite, after all, doesn't he? and he knows what the deal is with it, so he'll probably need to be stopped eventually... that might be fun to play out :3
since their powers apparently change over time... i wonder if that's just time while they're dead, or time while they're alive too? That could be interesting as well, if they're able to separate themselves from their IRL bodies at will instead of having to be killed (omg i felt so horrible for Missile when he got hit in the park... he just kinda bounced along and laid there, the poor thing, and i swear i couldn't stop laughing D: D: D: )...? and of course that meteor's still there, haha. and we never got to meet the real Sissel, and Yomiel didn't reunite with everyone in that end meeting... i do want to see Yomiel and Sissel back together again. I know he had to go with Dowd while Yomiel was in the slammer, but they're bestest-best buuuuuuds~ and Yomiel seriously has some frickin' cool tricks up his ghostly sleeve, i wouldn't mind being able to mess around with those, hahaha -- it could add a whole new dimension to a puzzle :3
who am i kidding, i just want more puzzles to solve. those were fun~! and hahaha, temsik/kismet :3

this is true, the blue guys potentially wouldn't be involved at all... but there's no telling what may or may not've happened to Sith during the interval of time between his escape from the sinking submarine and when everyone was able to meet up with Jowd in the ejected room. If Sith managed to crash his sub or if something went wrong, and he was a ghost when everyone else went back in time... he too would retain his knowledge of everything that'd happened, and he'd surely still be attempting to recover a piece of the meteorite again once they'd restored the alternate future. who knows how they could finagle the story, y'know? :3

Thank you all so much for marking spoilers. I still desperately need this game. D: I might have to order it online... was it that hard to find for you guys?
@LaytonAprentice Nah I wasn't sarcastic. I almost read some spoilers but thanks to tbd and JayArr's immense SPOILER ZOMG tags I didn't see any. Whew! I saw a couple of words in your post and flipped my eyes away real quick. ;3
So you didn't see it in any of your local stores? That's funny because for quite a while after their release it was pretty easy for me to find the Ace Attorney games, so I thought it might be the same for GT. Ah well, maybe I should just give up and order it.
Anyway from this point on I'm going cold turkey on reading about Ghost Trick anywhere until I finish the game. D:
@HM: lol i just marked LA's post just in case, you should be OK :3 and it's 27-something on Amazon if you want to pick it up there, i haven't seen it in stock anywhere near me anymore; hope everyone in my city's enjoying their copies :3

Ah, cheers tbd! That's a good price. I'll pick it up online then, thanks for the heads up guys. Now I'm outta this thread before my curiosity gets the better of me. xD
I haven't seen any copies in stores. Like HM, I was expecting to see it in stores like PW, but unlike him I got impatient and pre-ordered online before it was released. I should really start playing it, but something's holding me back.
As I understand it (and i could be wrong, i still need to play it through again but 4HoL has sucked me in for right now, lol), the first time you play through the game is actually the third time these events have gone down. 'Ray' is an alternate-universe Missile.
First Time: AU Missile dies protecting Kamilla, follows her around and kinda figures out what's going on. He is unable to change anyone's fate in this universe.
Second Time: AU Missile is waiting for what's going down at the junkyard, but is unable to get Sissel to help him. Missile is able to see Sissel's powers in action and is able to form a plan to enlist his help next time around. He is still unable to change anyone's fate in this universe, he needs Sissel's help.
Third Time: The events starting from the beginning of Ghost Trick. AU Missile's spirit is old and frail now (he's technically been around for like a bazillion dog-years, lol), and he's about to disappear (move on?), so that's why he gives Sissel the one-night deadline. He is technically able to change fate this time around by tricking Sissel into helping everyone.

. . . . . I think i sort of figured who Sissel was in whatever chapter it was when we see the cut scene of "Then why was the body down there if fate was changed?" Not that i was so sure that he was the cat, but it put the thought in my head like "hmmm, it would be awesome if that's Sissel!" The other leading candidate in my mind was Jowd's wife, but that didn't really fit with the way the story was unravelling. I love how, in retrospect, the cat-identity totally makes sense, and is foreshadowed by how Sissel can't read and never seems to know what some basic human-things are (which initially seems due to the ghost-amnesia), just like Missle. . . . . .

Such an f'n awesome game.
Also, cool interview there, thanks for the link JayArr.

MARK YOUR SPOILERS PLZ ==
How about a sequel focused on Sissel's events in the alternate timeline where he originally ditched Ray's plea for help? Where does he go? What does he do? Who does he meet?
@kkslider: which twists are you talking about exactly? there were quite a few toward the end, there :3 edit: ohhhhh nm, i just re-read that and you haven't beaten the game yet... yes, everything is explained in the end, even the crap that comes flying in out of left field. Don't worry, it'll all make sense :3

All the spoiler tags in this thread have me frightened to read anything above, but I'd like to chime in as an instant admirer of this fantastic game. I just picked it up today and started playing for a bit, and I have to say, I already can't wait to sit down with it again later. I haven't been this motivated to quickly return to a DS game in quite a while.
