I liked it in F-Zero GX as it seemed to fit the physics model more, but in Mario Kart it did my head in , mainly coz I sucked at it!!!

I got really good at it I mean really good i'd have the next boost ready before the first one was finished. sadly all the L/R-ing wore the L/R buttons completly out on my DS.......

That's all that needs to be said right there. I can snake, but why I would I want to? It isn't fun to me, and it really doesn't take much skill to figure out. People who snake are asshats. I'm glad they got rid of it in the Wii version; it's just too bad then that MK Wii is the least fun MK with all its balance issues.

I think snaking is perfectly fine. It's a useful technique, it's not like you can't can't try to snake as well if someone does it to you. Sure, it might make things annoying for some people but some are just...easily annoyed. o.O

Snaking in MK is like someone being a "one move wonder" in fighting games. It's cheap but not cheating, not even close.

you can tell what country your opponents are coming from, though -- the game shows you during the matchup process. i read it as he'd had more problems with this out of people from Japan.

I know you can see the country. I used to play a lot. But people from America do it just as much.

I was really just giving him a hard time, but it's still best not to say things like that, and I pointed it out more for his sake than to stir anything up. It'd be more accurate to just say "I hate [...] people who cheat..."

I don't think it's cheating but i do think it really takes away the spirit of the game. I agree with whoever said it's like a one move wonder in fighting games....it's Dhalsim's crouched kick.

i frakking hate it. it's the reason i stopped playing MKDS online. it's just boring. that fighting game metaphor is quite on spot.

I's kind of wrong, I haven't try to learn it, and I too 'stopped' playing MKDS-online, because of this, 'wrongness.' It's almost like cheating, but more of a 'cheap trick' like the fighting game analogy.

It's sad to say, when it's like the best Mario Kart on DS! I love Mario Kart DS!
