OBJECTION!

I just got a used copy of Ace Attorney on Friday, and spent the weekend playing through the first 4 chapters like a madman. The game is addictive! I especially like how difficult it is to get totally stuck. You may feel stuck for a while, but a bit of persistence usually gets you past it without anything too tricky.

If I had one complaint about the game, it's that I often understand what happened, whodunnit, and what evidence can prove it, but I have to follow the game's patterns for pressing and presenting evidence least I be penalized by that pushover of a judge.

I'm on the fifth episode now. I'm looking forward to getting the other games in the series after I prove madam prosecutor innocent!

Objection

The fifth episode is really long. I'm playing through it again myself. It's one of my least favorites but it's still pretty good. Glad you like the game and hope you continue through the series!

the good thing about the AA games now is that you can find them used for pretty cheap. have fun with the fifth case... dusting for prints and spraying luminol is surprisingly fun.

Objection

I'm going through JFA for a ?? time (like 6-8th time) in preparation for Natsucon which happens to have a AA panel so I gotta remember all the good stuff. Sadly, I wont have time to go through T&T again before that, let alone AJ for a 4th time.

In other news, it looks like NA gamers won't get to play Gyakuten Kenji (also known as Ace Attorney Investigations) until at least January 2010. Invoke the sadness...

That's according to AA fansite Court-records.net which is pretty much the #1 place to go to for AA stuff besides the CAPCOM site. This wouldn't be the first time they've decided to go with January over the Christmas holiday season (I'm looking at AA:JFA's NA release.)

Hey, an AA would be more than worth that effort. In fact, I'd be the weirdo screaming "EUREKA!" when I found the last copy and shouting "TAKE THAT!" to the person who saw it second while waiting to purchase it.

Ya, I felt the same way. It was worse in T&T though. But there is some realism to it, since you do have to follow specific court procedures when making your case, even if it is obvious to you that your client is innocent and someone else did it. You can't just say, "you morons, look how outrageous and improbable this person's testimony is!"

Can't wait for PP. I think I'm in love with Miles... siiigh

Now Playing: Bioshock

JayArr

I want to get into these games.

Will someone post a list of them in order? They aren't numbered, right?

I will purchase Ace Attorney tomorrow.

I loved this series! Even though I started with Apollo Justice first...

Anyway, I would have to say that my favorite case would have to be the last one in Justice for All. Awesome plot twists!

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Objection

Ooh, fav and least fav cases discussion? Well, I'll start withmy least favs: 1-3 and 2-3. The movement set up and the slow-pace of both cases make them my least favorites. (Though 2-3 does a great job of explainging a seemingly unexplainable murder.)

O_B I would have to disagree, while I do think that 2-3 is the WORST of the series, I think a lot of "improbable" things happen that just coincidentally explained a previously inexplainable hole in the plot.

That, and all of the characters were freaks (chuckle...chuckle...get it? )

I'm not much a fan of 3-3, if only for the Tres Bien. And everything about it.

lol 3-3 did introduce the MOST DISTURBING character of the entire series!

theblackdragon

ooo, good idea!

Least favorite cases:
3-4 and 3-5 because so many awful things were brought to light... ugh. it's good to know these things happened so that the proper people get their just desserts, of course, and the twists and turns were really good (very well-crafted, of course), and the first day of investigation (and what happened at the very end of the night before, to be honest) had me laughing so hard... but just... ugh. y'know?

actually, i would go so far as to say the entire third game, I didn't like. It wasn't on a gameplay standpoint, and it wasn't because the plot was lacking or anything... it was just because of the ugly things that came out of that game. :/

Favorite cases:
1-2 (lawyer, defend thyself )
2-1 (i liked how they worked it into a tutorial, lol :3)
2-2 (i remember how excited I was to have figured out the incriminating detail in her testimony about the car)
2-4 (poetic justice and tears at the very end! ;D)
4-4 (it blew my freaking mind, man! )

@BleachFan888: oh, you mean this guy?

Objection

That's true, I dislike 3-3 as well, especially the end where you have to crossexamine a certain Tiger...man that was annoying. Almost as annoying as that last testimony in 3-2. I dislike those 2 filler episodes in T&T but the main cases were great.
