Well, we do need someone to take care of all these new Trolls and Spammers we been getting.
And I can easly take care of them for you, if you Give Me The Ban Power!

If I were a moderator I'd wreak havoc, and turn Nintendo Life into a dictatorship, in which I would post news bulletins on how great Sony and Microsoft are...

Yes, the age limit was 8, but after they made an exception for that one mod(see: Prosody), it's gone up to 60.

@Nintenzo: Chicken Brutus was made a mod last July, and V and I were brought onto the team last October. There have been no new moderators added since.

Speaking of V: I noticed when someone revived one of the threads where he participated in, he did not have a shield by his name. Maybe he's too busy for the site?

I don't know why I'm not a moderator yet.

@StarBoy: I haven't seen V in months now. I know he's got a full plate IRL, and I also know he had a few projects in the works for a long time that were about to see action finally. I hope he's doing well, though I do miss hanging out with 'im

@Nintenzo: not off the bat, no -- the base moderator privs do not include access to the review system. I know I was asked a couple months into it if I could help out with download reviews because I had a DSi, though, and Phil was already a newswriter before he was made a moderator. V never did any reviews, even though they really wanted him to (he writes rather eloquently).

They must review bad games and puzzle games and bad puzzle games. _jk

And Yeah, reViews would have been awesome!!!

There's about 1,000,000 other tasks and responsibilities that come with the badge too. It's not all bans and deletions (actually, it mostly is.)

Managing the NintendoLife collection and taking it to the Salvation Army, making sure every NL user pays their taxes, meeting with diplomats from other sites and discussing complex video game website managing stuff...

They do everything.

You also need to be an avid member on the forums.

I think it was Billy Conolly who once said "the desire to become a politician, should bar such people from ever becoming politicians in the first place" I think applying the same logic to mods is a very good idea.

At least moderators get a shiny shield while politicians get bill statements...
