I think SNES games should definitely be on the 3ds. just think of playing StreetFighter2, Super Metroid, Axelay, Secret of Mana, and all your favorite SNES titles. Put down your ideas of other games! ^-^

I'll bet it's possible. If the 3DS can handle GBA games, there's a chance it can handle SNES games.

As for if Nintendo will do it, if they do it will probably be later in the console's life, and even then it doesn't sound like it will happen. If the 10 Ambassador NES games are the start of a whole line, then maybe Nintendo will add SNES to the mix, like they added more obsurish consoles to the Wii VC later on (Neo Geo, anyone?). If they don't want to be arsed porting more NES games, I don't see why they'll want to port SNES games. It also seems like the reason they pushed out these NES VC games is just so the ambassadors could get an early bonus (and a potentially exclusive bonus in the form of GBA games), otherwise you'd think Ninty would go and give all of these games 3D makeovers a la 3D classics, so maybe when they're done with the final versions of the NES games, they'll call it quits and probably focus more on GB VC games.

Then again, like @sykotek and @ColorsOfSonic said, Ninty wanted to make ALTTP a 3D classic, so maybe we'll actually see a SNES game in 3D. You know, the kind of 3D that StarFox wasn't in.

Also, while we're talking about 3DS VC, where the heck are the Turbograffix and Game Gear games?

Yeah, the Zelda director(I think) always wanted to remake ALttP in 3D. I always thought that they would completely re-do with a 3D world, gameplay etc. but now it seems that they'll keep the original top down look but just make it a 3D classic.
