When the 3ds was released, it seemed that the biggest surprise was the addition of the augmented reality functionality. But even after the E3 2011 i heard nobody speak about it anymore, and the only upcoming gamerelease i can find is The Hidden (which doesn't seem to be much of a classic to say the least...).
So anyone agrees? Or has more information about this?
Kid Icarus AR cards are coming out in the future. Other than that, I don't think anything has been announced. It's a bit of a shame, but overall, not a huge loss in my opinion.

Am I the only one who isn't too excited about AR games? All I've seen is "play a game with your desk or coffee table as the background" AR games so far.
Games with well done AR compatibility are cool, but I really don't want too much of it. The main feature of a portable gaming console is the fact that you can take it with you and play anywhere, and I don't think I'll ever be pulling out AR cards on the train or anything like that, so I'd rather developers just focus on making quality games rather than AR features.
I think AR HAS a huge potential. Imagine two people playing virtual chess on the same table with two systems using one card, or a pong like game.
That sounds kinda interesting I guess. It's capable of some cool things so let's hope they're creative and find some fun ways of implementing the AR, but I don't want to see some cheap AR feature shovelled into a lot of games just because they can.
What I saw of the Bravely Default AR was pretty cool. Interested to see how that game turns out.
