Topic: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Ok, I must admit that I've had a really thick pair of nostalgia goggles on while playing this. All I was noticing was the stuff they changed, and I usually wasn't in favor of it for one reason or another. There's been plenty of good changes made. For example, I initially thought that having the hovering Deku flower platforms in the Deku Palace now be stationary until you touch them was a change made in favor of lowering the difficulty. I now realize I had my fair share of trouble with those my first time playing the game, and they were changed to make it less frustrating. There's even an option to look straight down while flying to see where you'll land. Now that's how you change something for the better. Makes my previous comments seem like pointless rants. That's not what I had in mind.

Ugh, they made Gyorg more frustrating for me now!? T.T
Got all the stray fairies too and he's wasting all my time to where I'm gonna have to restart time. (got like, 2 minutes left, lol)
Stupid fish.

I went in there without fairies and he actually killed me. First Zelda boss in a LONG long time to do that.

Twinmold killed me the first time

Gyorg has always been like, the hardest boss in Zelda games. Was hoping they toned him down a bit here, but nope...he's more annoying now. lol

I actually never died against Twin Mold, though...usually I end up losing against them because I end up losing all of my magic. lol

Gyorg was a pain in the butt as well as Twinmold. While kinda hard to hit, I never found those bosses to be overly hard in the original version. I actually collected all the fairies first and then traveled back in time because I kept running out of time on those two in the 3DS version. It took me way longer than on the original version to beat them. Majora was no problem, but I actually had to do both Gyorg and Twinmold multiple times before beating them.

So, am I the only one with a glitchy camera control? Nintendo's support forums still hasn't replied to my thread. And apparently I can't email them about it. T.T

Spoiler: You gave the answer regarding Shiro yourself. They placed him in the fortress because that's the place where using the mask makes the most sense. There isn't any indication of his location, but when I learned he was in the fortress (I looked it up on the internet since he wasn't anymore in the canyon) I immediately thought: Near the crates. I was right. This is one of the many things Nintendo did to make things more smooth. End of spoiler

@Henmii Yes, I understand the reasoning behind the move, it just caught me off-guard. I didn't think it needed to be changed, personally, and I never expected it to be. The mask is still useful for other things besides the Pirate's Fortress, too.

Anyway, I finally decided to give one of the fishing holes a go the other day. I kind of avoided them because it was one of my least favorite things about Ocarina of Time. Once I got the rewards from it in OoT I never wanted to go back to it. It seems the fishing has been improved in Majora's Mask 3D. I find it much easier to reel fish in, there's a big variety of them, and the actual fishing hole itself is more interesting than the simple one in OoT. The swamp fishing hole in particular reminded me of the one in Twilight Princess. Using different masks and abilities to make certain fish appear is also a nice idea.

I actually still need to go to any of the swimming holes to do actual fishing. I only visited each of them once to goof around underwater as a Zora. Odd cause I actually like the fishing in these games

So I had a major stroke of good luck today.

I went to the new 3DS event at Best Buy to get some freebies, and the lady from Nintendo said that she saw some Majora's Mask special editions (with the Skull Kid figure) in the back. She asked some store employees if they were for preorders, but no one knew, and plus the preorders would have been almost a month old anyway.

So she got the two editions and set them on the table for us to battle to the death over...nah just kidding, there were only two of us at the table and we both bought them immediately. I even used the coupon to get a discount

Anyway, long story short, I struck gold randomly

Sell it online for half a million cents

Heck no. I bought it for me >:[

Spoiler: Yeah, the fishing. It seems they went all out on it. They could have just added 3 different fish and call it a day, but they didn't stop there! Would have been fun if you could also fish outside of the holes (like in Tp) but you can't have it all. End of spoiler.

So yeah. Late reply, but I beat the game completely a few days ago. All masks, all items, all heart pieces, pretty much everything bar the fishing to be honest.

Well, guess it's off to the fishing hole for a few weeks or so...

Oh, and for bosses? Well surprisingly (given how I'd never actually played Majora's Mask before playing this remake)... I never had any trouble with any of them. In fact, I don't ever recall actually dying or getting a game over throughout the entire game, nor running out of time. Goht, Gyorg and Twinmold were fun, but they sure didn't do a lot of damage to Link in the battles...

...Kinda glad they made that change with the Bomber's Notebook, before I just did any side quest I ran into while beating the game. So I basically haven't even seen past half of the stuff aside from the main story. lol

I learnt that there are 24 different fishes in Majora's Mask 3D!! Man, this game is definitely better and bigger on 3DS. I really love it. Now I am dreaming of Super Mario 64 3D.
