Literally the single greatest improvement is the save system in this game. I honestly have no idea why they didn't do it like that in the first place. There's a lot more save points in the game and now you can save without it going back to the title screen or having to travel back to day 1 and get put back in Clock Town. This remake makes you wonder even more why on earth that was once a thing.
Much like Ocarina of Time 3D, this game achieves the remarkable feat of keeping the original style intact and making it seem it never looked any different to begin with. Once you actually look at the N64 version you realise how misguided that feeling is.
It's generally more streamlined, without touching the familiar experience. Most changes are for the better. The only thing I didn't understand is why quick swimming with the Zora Mask now requires you to use the lightning magic. It's annoying when swimming through Great Bay's open waters.
So it turns out that this game is actually causing issues with the C-stick, not only does the camera freak out for a split second here and there. But I eventually ran into the problem of the C-stick not working AT ALL, had to exit the game (I also turned off the system just to be sure, since there was no option to calibrate it in system settings). Thankfully it's working now after booting the game up again, but...I kinda want to notify Nintendo of this so they can fix it. But afraid that they'll just send one of those generic/automated replies or something. >.>

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Why, are you allergic to generic/automated responses or something?
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

No it just means they just take it and toss it aside to collect digital dust or something. lol
Seems like you can't contact them directly about this sort of thing, ugh...really hope they'll see it in the support forums...just made a thread there. >.> http://techforums.nintendo.com/message/152037#152037
You could complain about with using club ninte- oh right
Yeah, basically, that support forum I just posted there IS Club Nintendo. lol...TwT
EDIT: No wait...bleh, I can't think straight. I'm thinking of NSider. lol
Spoiler: I found a fun little easter-egg! I think its new to this version, though I am not entirely sure. Go to Kafei's hide-out and spy through the hole. If you look to the right, you see a familiar item!
They changed the location is Shiro, the Stone Soldier.
It takes a little bit more challenge, but it's not that hard and he's easier to find now.
Where's he at then? o.o
He's at the bottom of the ladder in the central watchtower in the Pirate's Fortress itself. I think they were trying to make it easier to get the mask but honestly it just ended up confusing me and making me question my memory, lol. You still need to give him a red potion though so make sure you bring one!
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
Moving Shiro seemed entirely unnecessary to me. I looked all over near where he's supposed to be until I decided to look it up. No way I would have figured that out since I didn't expect them to move him at all. There's not even an indication that he's there. At least on the trail to Ikana he was surrounded by a ring of stones. If anything it makes getting the Hookshot and all the Zora eggs even easier since the mask is sitting right there where you don't even need to go out of your way to get it.
I will say one thing, though. They made him a bit more interesting than he used to be.
To be fair, Tatl does say she senses something nearby when you approach the area. But I missed that as I tend to ignore Tatl. So I only found out he was there when I looked it up too.

Using the mask in the fortress was pretty funny though. I never noticed that the guards look toward sounds until I wore the mask.
I think they moved him because the mask was most useful in the fortress.

So you're whining because they moved a mask to a more relevant location, and because it makes the game easier even though it's COMPLETELY optional? Seriously? Even in the original it was just as easy to get, and you could get it before you even got to Great Bay.
Some people are just ridiculously picky when it comes to useless details...
@TeeJay I thought you were supposed to give him a blue potion..?

I never intended for this to sound like I was whining. I love the game, and I was merely commenting on my distaste for this particular change. Pointing out that the mask is now in a more relevant position really depends on how you look at it. Sure, one of the most common things it's used for is breezing through the Pirate's Fortress, but it also works on most enemies. I've used it for slipping past annoying foes just as much as annoying pirates. It also might make sense to leave it where it used to be on the way to Ikana Canyon. Then when you find it, you can say "Wow, nice. I'll have to remember this thing if I go back to the Fortress" It is entirely possible to get it before entering Great Bay, but you wouldn't know that if it's your first time playing now would you? Changing the mask's location does indeed make the Pirate segment easier, but only because you can now get it on your way through rather than making a detour to get it first. Simple convenience.
All I was saying was that I was annoyed with the change, as I have been for most of the small changes they made. I guess I'm "picky" about the details because I love Majora's Mask enough to care about them.

What lz said. I've always given him the red potion.
