What kind of connection do you have? I have a ho-hum WiFi connection, and Playstation Now streams pretty smoothly, I would imagine something simplistic like a 16 or 64 bit game would run as smooth as butter on almost anything.
Satellite 4G but my wifi isn't reliable. It goes in and out. I just really don't want a streaming service. I have enough issues with Netflix, not working properly. I rather download or buy physical copies. Or rent from Game Access.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
So after dipping my toes in Playstation Now, I thought about Nintendo,......and I say absolutely Nintendo should, but only in regards to the VC
I'm not sure the tech is their yet to make Playstation Now an entirely satisfying experience (lower res, some frame rate hiccups), but man, would streaming work great for anything from the NES to the Gamecube era.....which aren't as taxing as your circa 2012 PS3 title, etc.
.......and in regards to classic and retro Nintendo games, man, that would be a nice fit for a subscription payment method. Rent for a couple hours to 90 days, etc. you decide.
Yeah I guess I'm not the only one who thinks they should, but I'm not so sure about the renting part.

Well, the whole point of streaming is more or less to rent it, with VC, it's great, most people have played and beat these games multiple times before, so rent it for a month or whatever. Just keep the save files......
But streaming doesn't work as well with the purchase method IMO, if you buy, you download, you own it theoretically forever. Plus the quality of streaming doesn't equate to the same performance perks of downloading it to your hard drive, at least with a game like MK8. I'm sure in 10 years everything "may" be streaming, but it's still not perfect as of yet.

Fair enough, if Netflix gives you a problem at times it may not be the best method.
I'm confused. You can rent Wii Sports Club for 24 Hours for $2. No internet connection required, after you rent it. But Playstation Now requires a constant internet connection to stream your game...why?

Because Wii Sports Club is installed on your hard drive, and PS Now games are on a server and have to be streamed to the device you're playing on.
I get your point but you don't have to be cruel and let me tell you something. I don't like the idea as much as you do. But if I may remind you we're going to an age where everything is cloud & therefore "Streaming" is highly likely. If Sony & EA are doing it don't be surprised if others do the same including Nintendo.
That's exactly the mindest that is so easily exploited by useless ideas like game streaming. "It's new so it's good", as I said before, is the entire appeal of this worst idea among worst ideas. They're wasting servers on a petty service which could be used on better online for so many games in this freaking world it's not even remotely funny.
WELCOME TO THE FUTURE
Oh, give it a rest! This is the most convenient excuse to justify terrible ideas, and it's not helpful for making this bull look better at all.
Also, if you call that the future, then gaming truly is going to die.

I think you still need the internet connection, since how will the game know your 24 hours are up? Probably PS Now works the same way.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

No PS Now is streaming the game to the console hence the comprehension on the image and lower overall quality compared to straight up playing the game via dl or disc, Wii Sports Club is already dl'd on the system so just needs to check how long you've played and hour long remains.
I can see use for the technology (Say a hotel with 500 rooms running some kind of streaming system over a local lan makes sense). Or the same sort of thing on a plane (Ask for the controllers if you want to use it).
Don't see the point if it involves at a point a network link that is not controlled fully though.
I have tried Trine on Onlive and it runs worse than locally why would anyone want that.

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.

The PS4 can't run any of the games you can stream through PS Now on the HDD; that's why. If that was how they did things, they might as well have PS Now be part of the PS Store. Then you can decide to purchase OR stream from there, which is technically better.
See, if PS4 could run the games on PS Now on it's hardware, PS Now would exist, at least how it is now, and the PS4 can run PS3 games. Sony just doesn't know how to get it running. PS3 can run PS2 games without the full PS2 hardware inside, too, but Sony never figured out how to do it.
PS Now is a result of Sony not understanding their own hardware and being desperate for money in multiple areas of their company. The fact that you'll be able to stream PS games to your tablet or PC means that PS games are no longer exclusive(some were on PC anyway), so it really depends on how necessary of a service this ends up being, because Sony is kind of taking a dive on this one.
EDIT: So to answer the question, Nintendo won't do it unless it's a for sure thing, and they've already said they'd do cloud if they found necessary use for it, which is in kind of the same area of service.
