Main reason why i wanna move to Japan U_U those lucky barstewards... layton's final adventure. can't wait to play it >.< who's descole?, what's gonna happen to Emmy? Why do I have to wait ;__;
Yeah, that's me after finishing the game it's the last one you know...
This will also be his last game as the starring character. I can see him replaced ala Phoenix Wright style. But I can see why this wouldn't sell well (in Japan). You need knowledge on the past game to really understand everything, but that means you need to play the previous one first. I understand you don't, but that many people would do this.
Please just have a good, not childish story. -.-

Even though I'm a little sad to see the series end, at least it will be going out with style. From these trailers of the game, it looks like it will be quite an epic adventure. Plus, it may even top off Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, my favorite game of the series.
I am very keen about finding out way Emmy leavs Layton (hopes she isva spy for targent) And after playing all the five first games, I would guess they makes an missunderstoud guy out of Descole like they did with Don Paulo ( or maybe Even an antihero thanks to Targent)
Guys it's just the last one starring Layton. -.-
I'm guessing it will go dormant and then resurface eventually, with a new pupil's adventures as he is taught by Layton, (maybe Layton's son?

Still yet to load up "Miracle Mask" having got it for free as a download through a promo last year.
I LOVED the first game. The second bored me quickly for some reason, and I have lapsed since. I LOVE the puzzles but found the story and travel in the second game frustrating. I hear Miracle Mask is more streamlined. I look forward to finding out, and may then jump on this one!
Each game is "stand alone" enough not to scare off players that skip entries, right?

The games are structured into trilogies. Curious Village, Diabolical Box, and Unwound Future make up one trilogy, while Last Specter, Miracle Mask, and Azran Legacies make up the other. In general I think it is a good idea to play in chronological order within each trilogy, although I don't think it matters which one you start with.
I strongly suggest playing Last Specter before Miracle Mask, although you won't be lost if you do skip Last Specter. Nevertheless, it introduces characters that are central to the plot of Miracle Mask.
Also, you really, really need to play Unwound Future, the final game in the original trilogy. It has what is easily the best plot in the entire series. It's really quite incredible. By far my favorite Professor Layton game. I did enjoy Diabolical Box as well, but I agree with you that it was probably the weakest link in the series.
I've been enchanted by this series since I bought Curious Village a few weeks after its initial release. This is easily one of the best DS exclusive series, and I'll be sad to see it go.
