@kslider yeah, I guess its nice that younger folks or just those who missed it the first time around can play it now with greater fidelity, but I really have no interest in owning a souped up version of Ocarina. It just seems like overkill. Nintendo does this all the time. They released games on the VC and made an extra round of profits off them. They released NES and SNES games on the GBA, and they're doing it again with the 3DS. I'm pretty disappointed that a lot of the announced games for 3DS are preexisting games.
@lockelocke it's because people were too stupid to buy anything good that wasn't a sequel or remake and so we'll never get anything original for a long time
Do you Think, thay will bring back, Fierce Deity Link
Hes like the Hyper Sonic of Nintendo
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
looking at this comparison, it's clearly being built off the original programming rather than being started anew from scratch. which i don't mind; it wouldn't really be ocarina of time otherwise. you may object to how technically faithful to the original it looks, but i think few would argue that it doesn't look much better.
if you get to keep all the original's charm while improving the visuals immensely, it's win-win isn't it?
I love the original game, so even a small boost in gameplay/graphics is good for me. I do admit, besides Link and some backgrounds, it looks almost the same. But hey-it's 3D and the Iron Boots are going to be a normal item. Awesome!
I love the way this is looking. The new visuals work wonders for an already great game. I do notice framerate issues when I play the game, but it doesn't bother me at all and I soon forget that they are there. I can't say much about the textures and whatnot because I think that pretty much every aspect of the graphics look better than the original game, but some things do look the same for the most part.
I own the Collector's Edition, the Ocarina of Time + Master Quest Disc, and 2 copies for N64 (one gold, one grey) and I have played this game to death....and I'm still very excited for the 3DS version!

Well, maybe not. Ocarina of Time was great when it was released originaly in N64. Yme passes and games age, and some games maybe not very well. I played OoT a year ago and didn't has the same charm when i played years ago. So, maybe this remake won't be as good as it seems (just look super Mario 64 DS that wasn't as good as expected).

Just by making the Iron Boots an item already means that the Water Temple is going to be much better (even though it isn't too bad to begin with). And by the looks of the bottom screen, the Ocarina may be a permanently equipped item. Anyone else think so?
That's not saying much since the original was pretty ugly. I'm sorry, I love Ocarina of Time, but I don't love its looks. It was ugly back then, and from those screenshots, it's still ugly now.
I'll buy this because I have a good reason to. That being I had never actually played OoT in full. My first Zelda was Majora's Mask.
I'm also not caring about what the fandumb has to say either because really, I don't care. Zelda is Zelda. Ninty loves to change Zelda EVERY time. Skyward Sword is a brilliant example because I expected a more souped-up TP engine and they still managed to stun me with their mesh of TP and Wind-Waker stylized graphics.
I've never played this game either. My first was ALTTP, but my first consol zelda was TP. Tons of people consider this the best Zelda game, and even if they're a fandum, I still can't wait to play it for the first time.

TP did everything Ocarina did but better. Just warning ya.
Personally, nothing can beat the original, but that's just me. But I have to admit, those graphics do look nice. But, I don't know, I'd rather have the classic look and feel. :/
