okay ive had a 3ds since it came out. and one of the things that sucks that i think they should change is the home menu. its so boring and dull and very irritating to find stuff if u have a lot of games. so what improvements if any would u like to see happen to the 3ds home menu
Add me on Wii U, JLSniper. I drew my avatar on the best game system ever the 3ds...3ds friend code 4768-7474-1189.. oh add me please and u can see my fun pictures i draw on my 3ds :)
I actually like, I organized my games so I always know where they are and being able to change the number of titles displayed makes it easy and much better then say the wii menu where you had to keep waiting for the next part of the menu to come up when you scroll to it or the dsi menu where you can see a few titles and that's it and you need to go through a lot of icons to find things, not that it mattered because you could have only a few titles at a time but still.

the menu is better than the wiis but. it would be nice to have a color or picture for the background and one folder for each type of game

@jlsniper - a colour or picture would be nicer then the floating squares. As for folders they might be nice but I did not like them on the 3ds camera for I forgot all of the pictures in them and then opening them made a mess of that menu, to me it would depend on how they were done, currently everything I have is in alphabetical order, though once it was sorted by game type.

I'd be satisfied with the return of the DSi permanent bottom scroll bar, tap a square and boom! you are instantly on the desired app, without moving manually or changing the menu size many times (I like to have one row at a time, allowing for the games' info bubble), currently the closest we are to that is pushing in and out the game card to get there instantly.
I agree with @7ATalavera for the most part: I like using the single row and I did enjoy the "permanent bottoms scroll bar." But what I would like to see changed is just the ability to move tiles like in the DSi, where I could place a game or application in between two of them, as opposed to it totally flip-flopping them and sending my desired app elsewhere. This then starts a chain reaction that never ends it seems.
wat nintendo "forgot" to do was to add a slight dim light to the 'home' ,'start', 'select' panel. I hate fumbling in the dark to press the button. or even better why not add a bit of light to the buttons for better night playing options. most gamers after playin get familiar wit the buttons lay-out but add a lil light for those of us (older folks prefebly) who struggles still.
Currently playing : 3DS (Zelda 4 Swords) : Dsi (Pkm Black, SRTEF) Owns: Pokemon Platinum; Kingdom Hearts, 358/2 days; Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor,MK7,KI:U,SM3DL,SF643D,LOZ3D,RE:M Waiting for Mario Kart 7, Mario Land 3D 3DS FC 0860 3463 9315
I want folders. I have a load of trailer and NES games right now. And I'll be getting 10 GBA games soon enough. A folder system would be much appreciated.
Then I could have a NES folder, GBA folder, Trailer folder and so on. I like organization and you can only do so much with the 3DS menu..

Light to the buttons drain the battery even more. And the light from the screens let's you see which buttons in they dark.

light on the buttons would be weird..and drain alot of battery... but if anything the folder ideal would be nice cause after a while the menu is going to be full...then where is the stuff gonna go

Video Instead of the trailers and videos going on to your HOME Menu and clogging it up they can go into a specialized folder where you can access them all easier.
DSiWare Any DSiWare downloads go straight into this folder, maybe a tab on the top row. Access the folder to see your DSiWare library that can be instantly played, a lot like the SD Card Menu on the Wii.
I dislike how moving icons around other icons make them switch places with each other, because then I'll need to move the other icon to it's place again, which will move another icon for me to move to it's correct place again. Repeat until I moved the 50 icons i have on my home menu around just to place the newest game closer to the "first screen".
@jlsniper Supposedly when you fill up the space on the bar, but not in memory, the 3DS will keep expanding. So if I have (x)amount of squares to start with and they're all full, when I add a new game or trailer, I'll now have (x+1) as a total of squares.
@aqueous ive noticed that i have 43 squares used but i have 120 in total... i dont even remembering having that many squares before

@jlsniper - that happened to me when I downloaded all of the ambassador games and had 43 titles added, shortly after that I discovered I had 120 squares, I think it increases in size on it's own when a certain number of titles are added so it can display them and give you room for future titles

so how many squares are possible then....well if thats the case i dont mine not having stuff in folders then...would be a little easier. but i would still think u could pick a color for the background,or squares or something,i mean ds even had where u could pick your favorite color, even if it was just a line at the top...
