I was aware of most of that, I've also seen some say the type of cat matters as well, but I haven't seen anything definitively yet.

I fought and recorded Mizutsune, as well as getting my back scratched by Sanya...it didn't feel good. Anyways despite that, the battle turned out ok, lol

The R shoulder button has started to get quite unresponsive sometimes on my 3DS, which is making Monster Hunter quite frustrating, as I constantly use it for dashing and blocking.

Until I fix it, I might have to give this game a break

Edit: Rule 1 of Nintendo consoles: If something doesn't work, blow on it. That appears to have fixed it for now, so I'm back and happily playing more of the 3 star quests.

In case anyone's curious, I've discovered what each of the village decorations do. Each activates a two-in-one skill called "Soul of (insert town name here)".

• Kokoto gives Thunder Res +15 and Spirit's Whim
• Pokke gives Ice Res +15 and Gourmand
• Yukumo gives Water Res +15 and Honey Hunter
• Bherna gives Fire Res +15 and Halve Hunger

So they each give resistance to their respective new flagship, and a skill to make life easier.

Now talking armour sets, by mixing all of the Loc Lac pieces with two pieces of Melahoa (made with Dosbiscus you get by trading other plants) and the starting Gathering talisman, you can get a set with Gathering +2 and Pro Transporter for all of your gathering needs.

And if you're looking for a set to move on from BujaBujaBu, Shogun Ceanataur is a fine choice with Critical Eye +1 (easily gemmed to +2) and Razor Sharp.

My Glavenus video is up, although I never fainted, I was close multiple times...partially because of Sanya constantly clawing at my back at the start, lol. Anyways it still turned out to be an intense and fun hunt, as for what's next...I think Nakarkos is the final urgent for the Hub's low rank, so I guess it'll be next whenever that happens.

I just finished the village story. The final quest wasn't hard at all, although Glavenus gave me a bit of trouble.
Speaking of Glavenus, he's one of the least enjoyable fights in the game in my opinion, along with Kirin.

@Tsurii Ohhh hahah well I doubt ill use em if they are trash, but where are they lol? are they talisman's from finishing all the diff village quests or something? guess that's what I'm curious about... what they actually are lol xD

@OutCold They're gems you can make in the Decorations at the smithy (should be at the end of the list). They're not necessarily bad, just situational and not too combat-oriented outside of the element resistance they grant. Kokoto is probably the most useful since it gives Spirit's Whim which decreases the chances of pickaxes and bug nets breaking, which is always nice.

@SnowyGlaceon Eh, he's not too bad. He's kinda like Nargacuga: Brute Wyvern edition.

Now that's funny, because from what I've heard (and you can see in his design), he's supposed to be basically land Rathalos.

In the effort of postponing talk about Nakarkos until you plebs have all cleared HR7 (<3), I really like the deviant monsters. They're basically "let's add one really neat ranged attack and a design tweak," with really nice armor. Silverwind Nargacuga in particular is very fun to counter with the long sword's art.

I just crafted a full astral set and S. Nargacuga long sword, both of which increase the rate of my arts' recharge. So, feelin' pretty good.

@Tsurii Haha, I just beat the key quests and urgent myself, landing my huntress at HR 51.

I agree about repelling Nakarkos, though. The fight only gets really good in high rank. I... I just realized that the ugly bone weapons are upgradable... aaand I feel stupid. Of course the game would thematically begin and end with weapon sets that can be upgraded into a further "evoked" form. Anyway, I prefer the siege monsters in this order:

Nakarkos
Gogmazios
Ceadeus
Jhen / Dah'ren Mohran
Dalamadur
(and I'll just assume) Lao-Shan Lung
Shen Gaoren

Aaaaand, I don't know if we're counting Amatsu or Alatreon and I haven't gotten to them yet so :/
