Capcom presented it on a nico nico live stream program a few minutes back. Here's the trailer:
A live demo was shown, and this apparently will be sold on 3DSWare for 200 Yen, (Around $2 US dollars) corroborating the recent Megaman Legends 3 Prototype Version rating by the OFLC.
For clarification: The character in the trailer is a new character in the series, and appears to be the character you control during the demo.
Yes!! Something good for the E-shop when it launches! I will most likely buy this if I have any money.

Wow, this is very interesting. Getting fans involved in development was always interesting, but I never expected they'd get prototype versions out to them. I have an interest in game design so I think it would be very cool to see some things that are in-progress and have access to debug items and such. I'd gladly pay a couple dollars for this.
So does this mean this project is still a go then?
that's what i was wondering... i'm so down for whatever MML stuff they're planning for us :3

This is a terrible idea... if they charge for the prototype, many won't buy it because they feel that paying for a demo to see if you want to pay for a game is absurd. If it's free, many will download it just because it's there at the launch of the eShop, then even if very few actually like the prototype the game will be made, then do horrendous, and Capcom will pick an excuse as to it's failure.

No, they just won't buy it because it's Megaman Legends. If it was the same thing with Mario or Zelda or Call of Duty or something tons of people would buy it. I mean, it's not quite the same situation, but what do you think sold Dragon Quest 8? A Final Fantasy XII demo.
I agree it's bull but we have no choice in this matter if we ever want to see Megaman Legends 3. Please, if you won't do it for me, do it for the Bonnes.
I will be buying the prototype. I don't care if they are trying to milk money or whatever. If it means helping this series stay alive I will fully support that.

hell yes... the story wasn't even finished yet. i don't like it when things are left hanging :3

if its free, im on it. if you have to pay, i wont go for it if its too high. 5 bucks ? i dunno.... imean, who would pay for a demo ? who charges for demo ? if they come up with a reward plan for those who will buy the full game with their proof of purchase of the demo, I wouldnt mind getting it then.
We're all for supporting developers, but it really depends on what the 'Prototype' consists of. If it's like Dead Rising 2 Case Zero, it's own separate entity, I'll buy it without hesitation. If it's a demo of material in the full game... I'm not too keen on having to spend money twice on one thing.
