I honestly don't see why it can't be put on 3DS.

becuse it uses high def shaders and parts of the new super mario u engine. if the 3ds recives it the game will be seriously gimped

That engine is the NSMB Wii engine. Same as used for NSMB2 and NSMBU with minor changes.

It is why neither are as good as they could have been if they were made from the ground up.

They could offer 60fps in 2D or 3D with the New 3DS and it would be fine. (They always had the option of that choice and never went for it).

The question is whether they stick to their guns. (NES Remix proves they potentially might not).

That's good, they need to. But not everything needs to be Wii U exclusive, especially not apps that look like they could work on both consoles.

The 3DS can't even handle the ice climbers what makes you think it can handle this?

I know Mario Maker is in the works and seems to be close to a final product seeing what ive seen at trade shows... but... this game feels to me like a silver metal on the wii U where as on the 3ds, would be more of a Gold medalist. winner .. does anybody else feel this way?

Right now, they only announced it for the wii u, .. is it just me or would it not be more available and productive to have it on a portable device?

Elebits and Smash Brawl had a level editor.. they flopped..

DS has had Mario vs Donkey Kong Mini's games offering editors with wifi sharing capabilities..

OH NINTENDO HEAR MY PLEAD.. please please please.. bring this game to the 3ds.. (that way i dont have to fork over 400 bucks just to be able to play this thing)

smash brawl is the highest selling brawl to date at an estimated 13 million copys. do your research before making up facts.

I think he means the level editor in Brawl flopped, and I have to admit, it wasn't the best editor.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

With the new 3ds maybe but it doesn't sound like this fellow plans to buy one.

So he is saying that a level editor will work better on weaker hardware? or is he trying to say 3ds users are more creative? If hes not talking about sales then whet is his point?

Except the 3DS version isn't all the games and it was released after the DL versions on Wii U

Yeah but do you not remember the interview where the developer said it was only possible on Wii U because of the extra power. When companies do that sort of thing it undermines trust I might have had in things that they said.

Don't you get it!? Nintendo wants to branch out to the Wii U, not just the 3DS. They NEED exclusives for the Wii U. Your logic is that if something releases on the Wii U, then Nintendo needs to port it to the 3DS. NSMBU for the 3DS! Hyrule Warriors for 3DS! Every eSHOP game on the Wii U needs to be released on the 3DS, or else I'm just gonna complain about it on the internet!

@Sergio151 THANK YOU!!!!!

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

You missed my point. I'm not against Wii U exclusives by any means, I was just saying that a Wii U exclusive should reasonably be something that you couldn't play on a 3DS, either by utilizing Gamepad exclusive features or the extra horsepower that comes with a home console. Mario Maker uses neither, it looks like something that pretty much anything with a touch screen could run.

I understand power and technical stuff are both hand and hand, but if they release MM on both 3DS and Wii U, then people will be more likely to buy it on the 3DS, unless the Wii U version will be somehow better. If that happens, Nintendo is basically pointing a shotgun at their heads, because the Wii U is bombing, and if the people buy MM on the 3DS and not the Wii U, then Nintendo will be loosing money, since many people don't own a Wii U. Business 101.

I don't see MM as being a huge selling point.

I am pretty sure the power of the Wii U is being used. Something like this may look easy to run but I don't think it is. There seems to be very little time between creating and playing, also it is kinda pulling a Halo CE Evolved move by having the classic look and New look playable and being able to switch between them easily. I haven't done a lot of research into this game (cause I already know I am going to buy it) but I think if there was a 3DS version it would be very limiting, and that would effect the Wii U version (as we have seen with Smash Bros lol)

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Wow. Totally out of context. The level sharing feature flopped. Not the game. Boy you guys are brutal.

Also I just discovered that nes remix is coming to 3ds so there's still hope. Might have to wait a whole year though... And I believe the 3ds is powerful enough to handle a level editor. Just look at mvsdk. It won't be as eye candy but doable.
